Hurricane Helene ripped through North Carolina and left behind the most catastrophic damage our state has seen in over a century. We were right on the edge of the hurricane. This is our family's recap of the day, and a look into the horrific tragedy that is still ongoing in the state we call home.

I live in Asheville NC and it’s really really really bad here. We have no powers, no cell service, no waters for days. All the stores and gas stations are closed bc there’s no powers and waters so my family have been stuck at home just sitting outside all day and do nothing. It’s not very easy 😢

My grandmother’s maiden name was Stuckey. She was originally from W.Va. I also lived in Iowa growing up. I live in SD now. I lived in SC for 18 years. My children still live there.

Hi, Aubrie this is Jermey McGuire I remember when hurricane Harvey hit Santa Fe, Texas. On Friday 8/25/17 at 5:0pm it went down hill from there later that night, at 10:52pm I was going to bed. The peer went out At 10:53pm then came back at 10:54pm.” 36 minutes later the power went out at 11:30pm, I had no power for the most part on Saturday 8/26/17 until 3:35pm. I lost power for16 hours and 5 minutes I was thankful the power came back on after Harvey knocked out the power. I had a battery powered radio Ito listen to to help me pass the time, until the power was restored I was thankful I made it through that nasty storm it was bad.”I hope y’all made it safe though the hurricane I Love You So Much!!!🫶🏻🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
