Hey Nelson family👋🏾. I know the hurricane has hit already but just some suggestions to add on. Have a first aid kit ( scissors, bandaids,gauze, belt to stop bleed, alcohol, Vaseline for cuts and scraps) Also freeze block of ice, ice chest, gloves and masks. Keep on close in shoes. Pack all in a bag so you don't have to look for it . Ask me how I know 😊

Hey Nelson family, I know it's over now but a few suggestions. Best places during storm is any inner dwelling away from windows such as hallway/stairways closets etc. First aid kit, have a bookbag packed with all your important documents, cash, "protection" & a list of emergency contacts written down nearby. Take your framed pics and electronics off the walls and store them in closets to protect them from falling off the walls. You guys did a great job of preparing honestly. I'm glad you guys are ok. ❤❤❤

Hey Nelson family trust me even though they say the area doesn’t floods invest in some life vest for your family and put one case of water in the freezer to help keep everything cool in case power be out for day and last but definitely not least pray

We just be chilling in Miami. We might even put some meat on the grill. However, water, canned goods, batteries, candles, ice, first aid kits, battery-operated radio, and fan. Also, light/thin house clothes since there's a possibility for power to go out. Plywood or shutters if you don't have hurricane shutter windows and sand bags if you live in a flood zone.

Hey Nelson family…. After being through 4 major hurricanes (a 3, a 4 and 2 Cat 5) in my life here in the Virgin Islands 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮you find the innermost room of the house with the least amount of windows, glass doors etc. My family stayed in our bathrooms on the bottom floor of our home. Also get some Home Depot 5-Gallon buckets and fill those with water instead of the sinks and tub. I have ten. We lost our top floor of two of our homes. Then I got married and my house was a one story home and I lost my entire roof. Please be safe next time. Beryl hit you guys at a Cat 1 so that’s a bad thunderstorm and wind but anything higher please evacuate if you can!!! I hope it helps

Depending on strength of storm, put emergency papers etc in water proof things even doubling ziplock bags. It’s usually not the storm itself it’s the effects, how long will you be out of lights, pack a cooler with ice to store lunch meat etc

I know the hurricane has passed and im glad you all are safe. The safest place is the basement if you have one. But for sure the top part of a house is always first to go so maybe next time take that into consideration ❤ overall yall did a great job

Make sure everything is charge, clean, make sure your car have gas just in case if you have to leave, make sure you have a cooler with ice for your meat and drinks,and everyone take a bath!!! Trust me I know cause Im from New Orleans.

CASH 😊 afterwards cash is needed to purchase gas ⛽️ for your generator. Please… PLEASE no candles. I purchased sensor lights strategically placed on the floor and they light up when you get near. And battery powered lanterns that the kids can carry. I hope this helps. STAY TEACHABLE because there’s always more to learn. P.S. make sure to purchase off season for the next year.
