Hurricane Ian Damage Report

Here is our Hurricane Ian damage report. Could have been a lot worse. Some homes in the neighborhood lost quite a bit of roof shingles and other stuff, so we came out alright.

Glad to see you and Vivian safe Cam. We got so lucky with this hurricane shifting at the last minute. Most we had to deal with over here was cleaning up some branches in the yard and no power for 2 days.

I thank God you guys are okay and really happy to hear you didn't lose power. I'm close to the Orlando area and I'm still waiting for power to be restored but thankfully I'm safe.

Glad you guys did ok, your house looks like it has very minimal (if any) damage. Trees can be re-planted. My wife's childhood friend has a restaurant right on the beach in Naples. It's a total loss. The damage photos and video I saw are awful. My family's property on Marco Island had no damage. Anyway , HOA communities are all over the place here in Phoenix, but trust me, they're for the most part excellent. They can be a bit over the top at times, but they're the best for maintaining and enhancing your properties value.

Get Vivian a rav4 hybrid I bought one for my wife and it’s great. Nothing like your gas mileage going UP when you are stuck in traffic or driving through town

Holy crap, I had no idea your livin in FL now, and the Tampa area at that. We just bought a house in North Port earlier this year...Thankfully it's still in one piece after the storm, though the streets are still flooded. Maybe I'll actually run into you at some point, would be cool to talk all things Civic...(I got a 2020 Si Coupe).

Side note...I hate any and all HOA's, gated communities, and or city councils. We specifically shopped for a house NOT in an HOA or gated community. Coming from one in PA, we wanted more freedom, and no additional fees.

I'm coming from NYC and northeastern PA, just curious what you think, as I've only vacationed in FL up to this point. However my family and I (as well as many other people I know) just couldn't stand living in NYC anymore, decided to finally make a run for it and escape the craphole it's become.

Damn you don't see that back here in CA. Stay safe out there! HOA can be a pain in the ass but at least they're probably not charging you guys upwards of $400+ like back here in the Bay Area. Those trees that went down look like the root system never got deep enough and also the ground is very saturated since Florida is mostly reclaimed wetlands.
