Best. Meteorologist. Ever. No hyperbole. No fear mongering. No end of day. Just facts. All of the other styles of over-reporting major storms result in complacency when the storm doesn’t show up. He is the meteorologist this storm needs.

Stellar reporting. Scientifically sound, no hysteria, no scrolling crap across the screen. This meteorologist is a consummate professional, he explains the graphics and steps through possible scenarios in a way the layman can easily understand. His job is to inform the public, not scare them. It's obvious he takes that seriously.

I'm not from the Florida area, but I found this newscast video on the social media site Reddit, where it has been shared with the title "Best weatherman just released an update on the tripple hurricanes". It is so popular it has recieved 29.9k upvotes and has reached the top front page. This report and this weatherman were so, so educational. The weatherman explained everything so in depth, I feel like I was in a college class, for free. Not only did his report update me on the news, it actually TAUGHT ME how to UNDERSTAND what is going on and what could drive this, as well as how these storms develop, are predicted to land, are charted, and fizzle out or get stronger. I learned about the current hurricanes, but also a ton about hurricanes in general, and I feel this report really expanded my mind. 29.9 thousand other people on Reddit, where someone shared this, agree. Thank you to the weatherman who made this and is reporting here. You really are making a difference and I feel like I gained more than just news from your reporting. I subscribed to the news station that posted this and wish you every luck in your weatherman and reporting career. I hope to see more of your forecasts and clips, even though I live all the way in Texas, because this one was so informational and interesting and mind-expanding and really got me to pay attention to hurricanes, not just as hurricanes, but in terms of how they develop and what we are able to predict. Just had to say this. Thank you! :-)

The beauty here is that someone in the station understands what people are really looking for when they look for information on an incoming hurricane. In this situation, people don't want the anxiety-inducing graphic images of past storms. They just want an explanation from someone who knows what they are talking about showing the average american what the weather is going to do, and what affect it might have. Contrast this with the talented entertainers that often present the news on other stations. They are very good at discussing the ferocity of the impending weather system and showing graphic images of the present or past storms, and discussing means of preparation and survival strategies. Nothing wrong with that, but it's refreshing to find a station that, if even just for a segment, puts a non-entertainer on stage to objectively present the information that (presumably) he has worked hard to prepare and is passionate about. Well done WKRG and Alan Sealls.
