I was in 8 year old in Prince George County. It's the only real hurricane that I've actually experienced. I remember watching the storm through the screen door that was banging constantly, it was mind blowing and fascinating to see Mother Nature's wrath in person like that. I love that there's footage of the same storm in the same area that i can go back and watch as a reminder.

This storm was pretty bad for us in RVA - out in the west end suburbs, my neighbor had 11 trees fall in their yard - amazingly none of them hit the house! We had one fall and it smashed my dad's '65 Chevy truck and a portion of our roof. Some friends of mine in a different neighborhood down the street were out of power for 2 weeks! My family was just out for a few days, but there were so many downed trees and debris everywhere.

@@Kyattsu I lived in Prince George County at the time, I was 8 years old. We had a massive old cedar tree in our front yard that fell over, luckily it fell in a direction that didn't hit our house. Our neighbors lent their tractors to pull the tree up with rope, held it in place with a stake and the tree healed like a broken bone. It's still standing today.

I was there in VA Beach. Probably the worst hurricane VA Beach got in my lifetime. NC usually blocks us.

I was in Charlotte Court House (between Farmville & Lynchburg) at the time and I've lived in Sarasota FL and Jacksonville FL eight years combined with 20 years in VA and Isabel was by far the worst I've been through. Schools were out for two weeks before power was fully restored for running water. So many trees down but neighbors and Amish with chainsaws had our roads cleared before VDOT.

we had very rainy summer that year so the ground was saturated so it didn't take much wind to topple the trees.
