Paul Maurice has been playing the refs the whole playoffs. Great coach and Florida can thank him for this year. Same team other than tkachuk which don’t get me wrong has been huge but they completely changed their game for the playoffs and it’s paying off.

I want a better camera angle to confirm that was legit but I would assume the average NHL player has some padding where he was hit but I do not think I have ever seen Burns play dirty like that. Calling no penalty seems outright wrong though.

The teams play by one set of rules and have success to get to the playoffs, then they completely change the rules and the teams willing (and able) to use the little tugs, stick holds and, some, the outright dirty plays get the advantage and the pure skill teams lose out along with the fans. And I know that every team has the one agitator guy; however, that type of player should always be penalized and let the skill players have more room to do their thing. It is not "a man's game" to try and injure other players like Bennett has done several times now. The hit on Slavin was technically 'clean'; however, it was also completely unnecessary and was, pure and simple, an attempt to end Slavin's career. I despise Bennett now. It will be the panthers and golden knights in the final (barring a Dallas comeback) and I hope neither team wins. That's possible, right. teehee

Good god Ron... the time for letting this amature league nonsense go without being called out is over. Who wants to watch a game where you can spear someone in the balls and it isn't even a penalty? Burns should be out for a couple of games. Player safety is an absolute joke - no other pro league allows their players to get hurt with no consequences. The reffing standards are an even bigger joke "put the whistles away boys - we don't want refs deciding the game"... refs proceed to decide the game by ignoring flagrant penalties and reward the team that cheats the most. I don't even watch playoff hockey when my team isn't involved because I have no idea what the rules are any given period of any given game.... that's not a sport - it's Calvin Ball.

Yupp, missed this call and then Bennett sticks his stick between Anderson’s legs and underneath his pad on the winning goal, and that was apparently just fine as well. Ref missed it, league review was fine with it, and this joke panel with an old goalie on it figured it didn’t impede Anderson’s ability to make a save on the play. Go figure, when Hrudey played if someone did that to him, I wonder how he’d have felt about it? So there you go, instead of screening the goalie looking away from him, get to the very edge of his crease, turn facing him and put your stick between his legs. Half V on the post? Put your stick between his legs, that will keep him on the post and leave the other side of the net open. That’s the way you can “inadvertently” keep the goalie from getting there to make a save. BS
