"They could be calliing someone else" is the addendum to "it's a lot easier to get budget for an 'emergency' than for maintenance". Sometimes, maybe, you're lucky and telling them "more maintenance expenditure will save you more in overtime fees" actually goes through to the right person.

That’s one great thing about working facilities. I can take personal ownership of all my HVACR equipment & ensure that the units get the proper care. I don’t have to get permission from a business owner to do a coil wash, contactor replacement, etc. plus being pro active reduces my workload.

"Thermostat was blank" - "You need to cycle power to reset the HP Lockout" I'd ask the manager to verify if someone didn't decide to turn off/on the breaker for that thing by applying the trusty "have you tried turning it off and on again" method of troubleshooting. I would not be surprised if that was the case, it and explains both these things. The HP lockout itself tripping, well... you found a few causes for that I'd say.

I’ve seen people on that same carrier break the R wire coming from the terminal board with the overload wires on the blower motor. The blower motor would over amp because the set screw on the motor pulley was not tightened down and closed itself shut. So the motor would run for 20 to 30 minutes,Trip off on overload and break the 24 V to the thermostat. Therefore causing the thermostat to go blank. But when I showed up the thermostat was on

I would haft to say my most frustrating thing is my customers who do not do any maintenance 🙄🤬🤦‍♂️ AN it seams like they always call when we are slammed an say we need you right away… You are 💯 % right!! Their lack of maintenance costs them more In R&R but I can not understand for my life why they don’t want to try and save them major repairs issues… Yea it’s more work for us to replace and repair but it pays the bills . So I do understand and appreciate your fluster… on the ice maker?? Some one had their common sense thinking up their booty!!! If they will not allow moving ?? At least a 45 deg deflection to push the heat above the air unit..

What I always wonder when you clean a condenser every week or 2: (that's very satisfying to watch by the way) I have a Split AC with 5 inside units which runs all Summer for cooling and all Winter for heating. Its been about 4 years since I've installed it, I looked thru the condenser the other day and it was clean like new You must have some dirty air there. How do you guys breathe? Yes, I know, dessert and stuff.... My unit is hanging 20ft high on a wall with no trees, exhaust fans or a dirty rooftop in de vicinity. I was almost disappointed not having to clean it
@HVACRVIDEOS
@HVACRVIDEOS 2 ай бұрын
Lol, I can imagine how fun that must be
@DBVintage
@DBVintage 2 ай бұрын
It’s probably because your unit runs as a heat pump. When it’s running in heat mode, the condenser will frost up like an evaporator since it basically is the evaporator when the system is in reverse cycle mode. As the system defrost, a lot of the dirt, probably washes away.
@Fluxkompressor
@Fluxkompressor 2 ай бұрын
@@DBVintage That's what I thought too. The climate here is more on the heating than on the cooling side. Its like 1h cooling vs 10h heating, so the outdoor part is a evaporator for most of its duty. Alec from technology connections made a video about his split AC This thing runs the condenser fan in reverse full blast after it has shut down the compressor when it satisfied the indoor temperature to blow of any dirt that might have been caught by the condenser That is a really nice trick. But my unit doesn't seem to do this I think. Why isn't this a wide spread technique on equipment like this, exposed to dirty environments?

For split multi row condensers, would a thin water wand be of use? Something like a fixed rain head style shower head on a pole, so it sorta looks like a flat shovel so the whole thing is as thin as the wand pole itself to squeeze between the condenser rows?

@HVACRVIDEOS Those hoshi fittings are solid they don't leak unless you do something dumb or loosen them Quick small twist of cond and if anything a ¼ turn from your Cresent to make sure they didn't bump and that would of eliminated a large portion of the direct discharge - recirc in less than 5 min..

@uxwbill
@uxwbill 2 ай бұрын
@@LasVegasVocalist I suppose it depends upon how charitable one wants to be in their assessment. About a year ago, MeasureQuick announced that in order to do certain things, they wanted you to buy these things called Qbits. You "spend" them running reports on systems that you'd serviced. To that end, if you took a screenshot of MQ, you'd risk your account being banned for having done so. As I have Testo stuff rather than Fieldpiece, and it seems that MQ only "merely" supported Testo stuff for the longest time, I just went back to the Testo provided apps. Once bitten, twice shy.
