They say in psychology, the brain will only reveal to you so much as you're able to psychologically handle. That's why we often times look back at the past and wonder "what I'm the world was i thinking?!" The phenomenon of denial is astonishing to watch from afar and this is a pretty remarkable case of someone's crazy inner pondering in real time. Abused children will do this in childhood to rationalize a bad parent and preserve the relationship they need to sustain life. But it happens all the times in adults too. Look at the Catholic Church nightmare. All those parents who absolutely couldn't and wouldn't handle the truth that someone they trusted with their children and spiritual faith turns out to be a monster. All the women who get cheated on and are mad at the other woman while making excuses for their partners. Addicts in complete denial their substance abuse is killing them. I could go on and on. People's brains do this when the truth is beyond what they're able to handle.

And according to other information the girl actually said no. My former husband confessed to an ‘affair’ with a 14-year-old 3 years after the fact. I wanted to leave him but had just given birth to our 3rd child and was financially dependent on him. He was a correctional officer by the time it came to light so he was never arrested but put on leave without pay when charged with four counts of sexual abuse of a minor. The statute of limitations ran out and he was not convicted. I stayed with him another 7 years and then he left me for a 19-year-old. He went on to retire from corrections after a 25 year career and now collects a nice retirement check. I should have left him sooner and he should have gone to jail.

it’s so heartbreaking how many women are willing to hear this over and over and be so heartbroken when on the other end, there was a child that was left alone taking advantage of and no one stood up for her and she’s too busy boo hooing looking back at her marriage when at the end of the day. Because they’re married to a monster they’re willing to let go of their morals and the only time they possibly would care is if their children are involved not the fact that a child was involved is not enough.
