I would emphasize that Ruth was an exceptionally good and faithful wife. Another lesson from this passage in the Bible was that both were in a situation that enabled both to observe the character of each other. I suggest to many Christian men and women in search of a suitable spouse to engage in church-related volunteer work, such as assisting ministries such as feeding kitchens for the homeless, painting out graffiti in blighted neighborhoods, picking surplus crops from fields for food banks, and this sort of thing, you see their work ethic, dedication to ministry, etc., actions speak louder than words.❤️✝️

Amen I was married from July 18 2009 until January 2018 to a man that preached to be the leader abd I followed and he managed to lead me away from Christ with his contradictory in behavior, deception, and jealousy. He was jealous of anyone outside the home that I cared for. I was not to spend time with itgers or money on anyone outside of our home. He ultimately was behaving like a king of his own castle and yet saying he loved Jesus. My mom who was with God is the one that gave me the motivation to divorce from him. To this day I struggle with the topic of divorce and God because I still can't seemed to have peace that I could not get my ex husband to church and to reconcile things and yet my Mom and dad went through hell and back and stayed married until death. I just don't know but I do pray for my ex husband to this day. Any words of advice or anything would truly help. I've read the word and still c9nfused if I did what was best for my own sake

I do know that we are sinners in a fallen world, so all marriages will be flawed because the people within them and the world in which we live is flawed. I don't say that to justify your husband's behavior or yours, but simply as a matter of fact. I think it's kind of you to still keep your ex-husband in your prayers. And as Christians, it's always important for us to practice forgiveness, as difficult as it may be. I'm sorry that you went through what you did, I can only imagine how challenging it must have been. The word used is the Greek σιγάω (sigao). This usually means to becomes silent, rather than never starting to speak. Paul uses this verb (sigao) three times in 1Cor 14. See for instance: "And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop*".* (1 Cor. 14:30 NIV), This is clearly someone who is already speaking, but then has to stop. As a woman here, I used to have an issue with it completely. I was led by the lies of society and let me tell you, it’s not simply the word, it’s both. It’s the meaning behind it, the idea that I would have to submit to a man simply because I was a woman. That frustration came from a lack of knowledge that submission is symbolic of us being the body of Christ submitting to the Lord. The husband is symbolic of Christ, the high priest of the home. Society tells us this is wrong because we are told that men and women are completely the same and thus should pursue the same behaviors, expectations, and roles. The idea of submission, which yes is obedience, is often shone with a negative light while failing to acknowledge that the role of a man is one of heavy responsibility, one that biblically states that a husband should love his wife as Christ loves the church and Christ gave His life for us, thus the love a man is expected to give goes beyond death, but is completed through sacrifice. The dynamic between men and women, the effective function between men and women fully requires that both submit to their roles and in effect, represent the greatest love of all which was demonstrated on the cross; that is, the love of Christ. I hope this makes sense.

To submit is not to be subdued. When you fight your husband on everything he feels like you don't respect him. When he feels disrespected he with holds love. When a woman feels unloved she tends to be disrespectful. It's like a cycle where you both don't get what you truly need. So I chose to submit. It allows my husband to lead. I offer grace and support when he inevitably makes mistakes. I offer congratulations and tell him it's impressive when things go well. A man who is following God's lead will find his way soon enough. Till then lean on him.close your eyes. Hold on to the good times you've already had and trust that the God guiding the leader of your family has everything under control.
