God calls men to lead in the home. But that leadership is the first place in loving and serving, not of privilege and power. www.desiringgod...

This needs to be taught more. True masculinity is a lot of dying to self, saying sorry and sacrificing.
@jeshurunhazelton7789 Жыл бұрын
True masculinity is basically taking burdens upon urself n being completely self sacrificial even if at great cost to urself dying if necessary giving up ur comforts pleasures pursuits wellbeing rights n benefits if it means benefiting ur wife this way ur leading n letting her look up to u n she feels safe n loved with u laying down ur life for her but if u love her you'll also call her out on things just like Jesus wouldn't tolerate our sin we have to have a backbone as well

@@jeshurunhazelton7789truth! And also be ready to accept your faults when your wife points it out, having no ego, because you are both equal in the marriage, you lead by example. When you call her out, do it with love❤

This is so true and I am finding this out. It's so hard. Especially when they think it's you as a person making these decisions instead of the Holy Spirit moving through you.

While I understand what John Piper says and why, I am tired of listening about how marriage is tough, a burden to bear and difficult. I see so many young christians not wanting to marry because of this. I mean shouldn't we portray marriage as beatiful?
@finishedwork61263 жыл бұрын
But would that portrayal be the truth? Pipers been a husband and father for a long time brother

Speaking from my own experience it is a tough relationship but worth it when two UNIQU people commit towards building a family and home. Like anything that is worthy, its gotta be hard. Be blessed.

Alot of men are not built these days. They claim to love God but it shows how they treat their wives like nothing...what happens when the woman has to do all the work without his help? And I'm not talking about just money Not to mention when they use the bible to mistreat their wives? Should a woman who loves God submit to this nonsense?

Yes. If she has committed to marry him, she’s called to submit to his authority. There is no “if” in Ephesians 5:22. If he doesn’t love her, then he has to answer to God; but she must submit to his authority and leadership if he is not calling her to sin or harm. It’s like He says in this message though, it’s a burden to be the leader. It’s the mans job to use his authority to make sure her needs are met before his, and that her wants dreams hopes and desires are met before his. His authority and headship is to be used to her benefit before his own. That is the image of marriage. What does this look like? It looks like him giving her her way as many times and as often as he can so long as it is in accordance with scripture and that everybody’s needs are met; she gets her way as often as he can provide a “yes” answer to her.
@user-tk4qd8dj1p5 жыл бұрын
@@Houseofarrows God calls us to submit to him, and submit to the authority of our husbands who are in christs image. God does not call us to submit to abuse and violence. If this man is abusing her, she should not stay. God wants her to love herself like he loves all his children.
