My dad is amazing. The best bonding time I have with my mom is when we'll spend an hour in a clothing store trying things on and inevitably getting something even though we didn't mean to, and daddy never complains, even when we say we'll only be a few minutes. He understands that that's really the only girl time I get (all my friends are boys). He's not even squeamish about periods and other girl stuff! He's amazing.

I don’t like hardware stores becuase I’m handy (because I’m. NOT) but I love them because they are so nostalgic. My grandpa is a mechanic, and he buys all these cars and fixes them up. So when I was little a “day out” with grandpa was going all over Flint and Grand Blanc to hardware stores finding this ONE SPECIFIC part . Eventually we’d end up at his buddies house, or Secretary of State or tags or license plates. But, at the end, we would always go to Halo Burger for a bite. He’s only 70 now, but I’m not a little kid and don’t live up in michigan anymore, so we don’t really do that anymore 😂

To be fair to us women, if we’re shopping for clothes, it’s totally understandable to shop for 6-12 hours. It typically takes me an hour just to find one good sports bra or jeans with good pockets (actually, I’ve never found women’s pants/jeans with good pockets before, has anyone ever found some?) and I sometimes don’t even find what I want.
