I read this series in middle school almost 10 years ago and loved it; it's one of my favorites. They've been planning on making a movie for a few years now but it's really slow going :(

I just recently reread this series after like 7 years. Definitely know where you’re coming from about scenes feeling overused, but once you go back to that time frame it’s entertaining! You’re going to love the rest of the series! It only goes up from the first one and it gets a lot more interesting! Definitely one of my favorite series ☺️

Omg what a nostalgic moment this was, I read it back in high school and I loved it but I never finished the series and now I’m like you know what? What the hell I have the first three books so I’m only missing the conclusion I think I’m gonna order the last one asap and jump right back in 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly I understand everything you said. But I personally think the third and second book are much better. There are so many shocking moments and they really pull you in and make you want to continue reading

Just looked it up and apparently the word "Nephilim" is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible two times. Nobody really knows what it means though - for the most part the most that we know about them is that they're either 1. fallen angels or 2. really giant beings - really interesting. Really glad you enjoyed Hush, Hush for the most part. You should read the rest of the series when you get the chance because things become much more action-packed throughout... the first book was kind of slow for me too, especially at the beginning.

Ive struggled finishing the last book, and yes nephilim does come out in the bible… its the giants but not inmortal 😝

I read it when it first came out (so long ago!). I liked it, but I don't think it's better than Twilight. The second book was quite dull (it had what I like to call the New Moon syndrome) but the third and fourth ones were quite better. I laughed when you mentioned that Nora had a lot of freedom for a 16 yo, but that was quite common in most of the post-Twilight YA novels, Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver was another novel where that happened.

I've finished this book today... and I despise it and I'm target demografic to this kind of stories. I've pick it knowing it's going to be teen romance and I can't expect much world building and the whole angel thing is there just for the vibes (I read mostly fansty books). I respect that. I wanted to read something light, something I can just kinda go with the flow. I've cringed so many times reading prolog itself becasue of poor attempt to use yee old words. I thought maybe it's just a translation issue and I gave this book another chance. Oh boy oh boy... I want to hit every single character in this book. Nora and Vee are just dumb, plus Vee is horrible friend (your bestie calls you and tells you "this guy tried to harm me, he pined me to a wall and threatened me" and you are like "nah, lets go camping with him". WTF). I don't buy this total shift in Elliot's character, it was too fast (and how on Earth he knew Nora found article abuout him?). And now crème de la crème, our egdy, dark, mysterious love interst - Patch (you my dear are in the top dumbest name I've ever come across and I read books where characters were literally named Rock, Mist and White Horn). Did everyone just forget that he assaulted Nora multiple times? That scene in motel everyone loves so much... ugh HE PINED HER TO A BED AND SHE WAS SCREAMING "GET OFF ME". Are you ok guys? I'm worried. Also Nora is constantly in defense mode around him and the way she thinks about Patch for 90% of the time she vievs him as a threat and danger. And she is RIGHT becasue he tries to kill her. Their love is just not believable. Sorry.

Same. I absolutely hated this book. I unfortunately bought the entire series before reading the first book, thinking I would like it... Trying to figure out if I should power through the other books or just donate them

I recently got this series recommended to me by my teacher. I have the same thoughts and opinions that you do about it. I will say though, vee is a little better in the second book but still a little bit of the same.
