When they are bound with ropes at 14:37 , Angel's rope is chaotic and Husk's is neatly wrapped. Maybe pointing to the nature of their respective "owners". Valentino being an emotional in-the-moment type & Alastor being neat/calculating.

We also find out in Ep6 that Val's hold over Angel only really works in the studio, which is a major part of why he's pissed that Angel moved out. By moving to the Hotel, Angel restricted Val's hold over him to only when he's there for work. But Husk, I doubt, has any such leeway. Alastor may not be holding him on a tight leash, but it NEVER comes off.

It’s also revealed that Val can’t control Angel unless he’s working in the Studio whereas Alistare owns Husker 24/7 representing by the gaps in the ropes. Husker is bound with 0 gaps.

Angel Dust deserves so much better than this. The way Valentino treats him and what Angel said about trying to get broken enough that Val will let him go, it's really painful to watch. I'm glad he and Husk have found common ground and can support eachother. And I love the message in "Loser, Baby." It's not your usual, "cheer up, things will get better" song. It's more realistic. Yeah, Angel's life is screwed up, but he's not alone. He now has someone who understands that he can look to for support. That's as good a start as any.

In terms of why would Angel sign away his soul I feel like all you have to do is look at the industry he is in. He was likely promised money, fame, and fun. Which he does get out of the deal, he gets paid, he's famous, and outside the exploitation does enjoy sex. So especially if Val was being charming he probably thought it was a good idea. Even if val wasn't charming if angel was in a bad spot and needed the money from the job people don't make the best decisions when backed into a corner. But regardless of the exact circumstances it's easy to see why he'd think it was a good idea

Angel was literally at the very bottom, and absolutely on his own, until Valentino noticed him. Without shelter, money or anything else. So it’s not surprising that he agreed, because at that time he saw this as truly the best solution for his continued existence in Hell. In addition, we know for sure (from the creator) that his family abandoned him during his lifetime, which means he could not receive something like that from them, already in Hell. A deal with Valentino was seen as his only option.

I love that with Angel Dust's story shows that just because someone is a sexed up power bottom, they can absolutely still be SA'd*. Also as sad as it is Angel's horrid situation is so well written and Val is a well put together character - he's the perfect "Love to hate" antagonist.

8:10 Because I think the only main cast member so far who really understands how powerful Charlie REALLY is is Alastor, MAYBE Vaggie, though it's unclear if Charlie's ever "flexed" in front of Vaggie. For Angel, one of his friends is in the proximity of who he considers the most dangerous person in his life. He is TERRIFIED of what Val would do to Charlie, because he does not realize that Val is less than a fly on Charlie's living room wall in terms of power difference. I think VAL knows this, which is why he makes Angel do it rather than ask her to leave himself.

The giddy reaction to Keith David singing seems to be nearly universal. It's just so mmmm! I've heard him sing before, I knew what to expect and it was still just warm and fuzzy. Seeing what Angel was dealing with made this a good episode, although hard to watch if you have some idea what that's like from the inside. That's not what made this a favorite episode for me. Seeing these random demons who've been thrown together, so different in their personalities, become part of a group, recognizing that they do actually care about one another, that's what made this one for me. Husker Dust - I really don't want this. Angel needs a friend more than they need a partner. And Husk can be one hell of a good friend.

Which was explicitly reaffirmed by Loser Baby and not put down by Husk. (or the narrative) Were it not for Val, I get the sense that he would enjoy his work. I don't think it's an issue of sex so much as it is agency. Having a relationship he can turn to where he can enjoy himself while retaining that agency could absolutely be constructive.

Angel voluntarily pushing away the one person who had even the slightest chance at helping him, was very much a power move on Val's part. I don't think Val would ever directly harm Charlie, in spite of his personal dislike of her, because being the Princess of Hell means she is quite literally stronger/more powerful than him, & even he's not that stupid! Making Angel THINK he might however, is something he can do, especially since he's already well-practiced at messing with Angel's head. The only thing more effective than chasing away your victim's support system yourself, is manipulating them into doing it!
