Thanks Jimbo - your original review sold me on the box. My version is a year old and the big drawer now has a slider on the bottom. It TOTALLY eliminates the wobble when opening and closing. My drawer also holds all my sockets.
@kevinamymurphy71262 жыл бұрын
Any info on that you can provide on that slider? I can't seem to find one on-line. Love the box but that elimination of the drawer wobble would make it absolutely "complete". Cheers and thanks in advance for you time.

Thanks for this! Just a suggestion...maybe buy one of those labellers and label each drawer so if you ever have someone in the shop helping out it is easy for them to find stuff!

I have the same tool box and need labels because I forget which drawer has what.

I have the same box I bought 6 years ago for 498 dollars. I use it in a professional auto shop daily. I have had no issues with it. Only thing is the paint scratches easily.

Pretty old video, not sure if you see these comments. But on your Husky toolbox, have you ever fabricated any small organizers to divide up the drawers? I've done a lot of organizers using wood, and I'd like to come up with a few ways of doing the same thing with metal. Maybe not for all the drawers, in some cases wood works better, but like your socket organizer, that would be an easy thing to fabricate.

I have had the 52" 9 drawer wood top chest now for a couple of years and I'm very happy with it ! I also got the optional metal pegboard back for it and keep the frequently used things on there, Hammer, wrenches, screwdrivers etc, very handy, keeps the top clear to use as a work bench 😉

man that one looks so much better and more solid than their newer versions.

Great vid thanks Jimbo, I'm in the market for a new roll around. I checked Home Depot and will be heading there tomorrow. One thing about the sagging issue, I noticed that Husky now adds 3 sets of rollers under the cabinets now.

Buy 3 or 4 of them for the price of one of the others. I got one for Christmas and I have the same results as you. Works great, couldn't live without it.

I’ve had mine almost 2 years and it almost fell over on me. I only had a drawer and a half open. The half drawer opened um some more and must of made another unlatched drawer open... it started to go and luckily I was in front of it and was able to stop it. Looking at yours I have less or about same amount of tools in it.
@Rattletrap27 жыл бұрын
Jimbo, I will probably never get myself as organized as you are..... but it is still a goal. I do have a small "junk" drawer in my box with pretty much all the same things as yours.... so there is hope for me!

Hey Jim! I've been eyeballing these Husky boxes for a long time. Seems like near pro quality for a fraction of the cost! I finally just now pulled the trigger and ordered the Husky 56 in. 23-Drawer box from Home Depot, based largely on your endorsement! Should get it in about 10 days. By the way, this is Rob Matthew. I was in metal shop at Sonora High with you back in the day! I LOVE your KZbin channel! Clearly all that metal shop paid off for you!
@JimbosGarage6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Rob!! Wow! Great to here from you, Hope all is well, I have also talked to Bob pyle from my channel too. I have had good luck with my husky box, Still looks and works great! Other people haven't had the luck i understand. The only issue that i have is the 4'' x 4' drawer in the middle is a little wabblely. I have all my sockets in there maybe close to 100 lbs. That might me a little to much. But still works good! Good to hear from you Rob! Jimbo!

Nice review and tool arrangement guide. Last week I bought the cheaper $398 52" box that looks the same but has a cabinet on the lower right side. I agree with everything you said about price vs the steadiness of the casters, if it bothers me too much I'll get better casters. So if I was a professional I would have gotten the HF that is definitely heavy duty but the upper and lower are $700 and it's a red color that I didn't want to look at it every day when my Laguna bandsaw and Porter drill press are black and grey - the HF would be a distraction imo. Not sure who would pay $7000 for a box but I'm sure they have a good reason - maybe have money to burn or just like to brag - who knows. Because anyone can get the Husky and make it better (tighter casters and stronger slides) for a lot less money. Glad you are happy with your box and now I know I'll get many years out of mine. Subbed!

I'd need 4 50+ inch chest/top box combos for all of that. That box would drive me bananas trying to dig stuff out of there. Every drawer in my boxes look like that socket drawer (generally). One layer, organized, everything quickly and easily identified.

Jim, I have a 6000.00 SNAP ON box and my large double track socket drawer does the same thing !!! So you did alright in my opinion :)LOL
@thebmac7 жыл бұрын
The reason I didn't get one of those husky boxes is because of that single slide on the full width drawer like you mentioned. I think they also only have single slides on the very bottom big drawers as well. As long as it works for you, that's all that matters though and I would rather a cheap box full of tools than an empty expensive box.
@ImNorm297 жыл бұрын
I have the Husky matte black 52" - it has double glides on the large bottom drawers. Otherwise very similar to the one Jim reviewed except I think it's oriented opposite (narrow drawers on the left, wider drawers on the right. It also has outlet strips built into the top and a magnetic "board" across the back of the top compartment. I've only had it for about 9 months, but I love it.

I have the same toolbox that I shipped in a ship overseas to Norway. It was much better than buying Snap On or MAC over here. I will perhaps replace some ball bearing gliders if I can. Some are good, but some stick. I wished they would use some of better quality and add to the price. But I't is so much for the money, you can only dream of that here in my country.

I have the same box and did a review also. I love it also. But I agree, the drawer depth is the only draw back. Great channel!

Casters are jut bolted to thin sheet on the bottom. If I have a chance I will be setting this directly on the ground or strengthening the tin on the bottom.

Got a good laugh out of the file drawer. I personally keep mine separated but I find it hilarious people get bent out of shape about it. I mean... we got our good/fresh files and then we have files we throw in the drawer :) Oh. I separate them with wood with slots in it. Packed tightly but not touching. Alternating handles.
