Thanks from UK ! One of my 141’s needed repair ... it turned out to be impulse tube split, but replaced fuel pipe too ! Your clear dismantling instructions were invaluable . If you remove your carb for any reason, replace pulse tube while you’re in there. I cut a piece of silicone tubing for impulse pipes ... they work fine, and will withstand the temperature , being next to cylinder.

Same problem here on my 141- split and perished impulse tube. Replacement (uk) about £5:00! Like your idea of silicone tubing to combat high temperature. Could you advise supplier/ bore diameter please .

THANKS for posting this series. Helped me walk through the rehab and repair of my Husqvarna 141. I had to use a smaller fuel tube size than you quoted; and interestingly, there were a few other variations inside my 141 compared to yours... perhaps year variations. At any rate - thanks to you, my chainsaw is up/ running/ and saw good service this past weekend.

Thanks a million for the video. It made the job very easy and only took about 15 minutes. Without your hint about tapering the end of the fuel line and using the pliers to pull i would have been cursing for at least an hour.

Rob Herron The line I got with the kit was too big to go through so after 2 hours of fruitless effort getting the line through into the tank I finally drilled out the hole to make it big enough and that worked . The other issue was the fiddly job of getting the carbi back in place . If the bolts poked through it was impossible to get it into place but if the bolts didn't poke through the gasket fell off . So I ended up using a bit of superglue to hold the gasket in place instead of the bolts and eventually got the bolts to take and all was well.

Thank You! I needed that information. I was doing that job yesterday and after about 10 minutes I thought I'd better find a video on KZbin.....The only thing I did differently was put a couple of drops of light machine oil on the line going into the tank. Nothing like a bit of lube getting into a tight hole.

Excellent series of videos, really well done and well explained. I just put a new fuel line and filter in my Husqvarna 136, and it certainly was 'cantankerous' as well as a few other things I called it. Getting the fuel line through from the carburetor compartment to the fuel tank was a major heartache. I finally put a 16 gauge wire up about four inches into the fuel line, fed that through, and then clamped it a few inches above and reached into the tank with long needle-nose pliers and pulled it through that way. Pushing it through was almost impossible. And I heated it to get it on the filter barb and on the carb. Now it runs like new. Thanks!!!

I finally found the trick to get the new fuel line through the 1/8" hole in the tank. I didn't want to drill the hole larger so I kept trying. What worked is a loooong taper cut on the line end. Also lube as much line as you plan to pull through the hole. The angled forceps make grabbing it easier.

I spent several hours today trying to stab the new fuel line into the tank. Tests ones patience to say the least. The only new line available here was yellow silicone and I think it's too soft. I ordered "genuine Husqvarna replacement line" and hope that solves the problem.

That is a great idea. I put a thin copper wire up about four inches into my fuel line, leaving about four inches hanging out, and then pushed it through the hole until the line stopped as usual. then I clamped the wire in the tube above the carb, and reached into the tank and pulled the whole thing through. But next time I will try that freezer idea. That is a great approach.

Thanks for your excellent video series. So helpful as a DIYer refurbing and maintaining my chainsaws. One question relating to the fuel delivery and tank on the Husky 141. Does the 141 have a fuel tank breather somewhere? Difficulty understandind what prevents a vacuum forming within the tank as fuel is delivered to carb for combustion. Must be a breather to equalise fuel tank and outside air pressures?
@RealManSkills
@RealManSkills 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I'm sure there is an air inlet somewhere. Many 2 stroke engines have a second line going into the tank. I don't own that saw so I can't look into it at the moment.

I tried to place fuel line as shown in the video. But I tired 30 minutes and stopped. I got the idea of inserting the metal wire into the hole where the fuel line enters and I cut the fuel line at a slant, pierced the fuel line with a metal wire and pulled it up (through the large opening in the tank). It took me 5 minutes with everything. Greetings from Poland ;)

I did mine today. It is really important to slice the tube for a good ways as you showed. I also used curved forceps to pull it through. It put some silicone spray around the hole and on the tubing and it still had some good resistance but helped a lot. Even a light pull in the opposite direction as pulling with the forceps helps as it causes the tubing to get a tiny bit of diameter reduction.. I use silicon spray on my GoldWing Motorcycle since it is a great lube and harmless to rubber & plastics.

@@RealManSkills I was working on a friends 141 that hadn't run in years and the fuel line had rotted off. I pulled the carb and was looking down at the tank and wondering how hard it would be to get out. Watched your video and it saved me some work. Almost 75 and my mechanical problem solving skills are a bit shaky Now I need to try and round up a carb adjustment tool. You folks who take the time to make these videos are a blessing.
