Great information my good man! I own about 60saws, And half of them are vintage homelites. But my bad boy!Hog slayer is my 266XP from Tomos Slavaina Yugoslavia! They ported the guts out of this saw from the factory and as I do with all of my 2-stroke engines,I drilled a few holes in the exaust and man oh man did that ever light a fire under its ass!🤗 I took it to a guys house that was clearing some big Douglas fir timber and there was another guy who had just purchased a brand new sthil that morning and i believe it was a 661 stock. He couldn't believe how bad my 36 year old saw beat the brakes off of his over priced piece of crap! I love this chainsaw! The EPA has not molested it like they do anything you can buy these days. I just purchased a Husqvarna 61 for $60 dollars off Craigslist not knowing anything about the 300th anniversary edition being a collectors item. I also have a few more bad boys in my collection, Two Sachs-Dolmar super 120,Sachs-Dolmar 111,And a makita 7900 dolmar to entertain myself with!😉

Hello Tony . Greetings From the UK 😃 Thank you for the message and the story of some of your saws. You have a very nice size collection. I regret selling my 300 year anniversary model.. it is nearly impossible to replace now and they are amazing performers. That was an excellent price for the Husqvarna 61.. was it running or needing lots of work? My collection is currently around 200..ish saws. There are many models I would love to buy but they just never come up for sale in the UK. Kind regards Rob 😀

Hey Stride! Good to hear from you! To answer your questions about the Husqvarna 61 300th I purchased for $60:00 dollars, It has a dead coil and the only other thing I see is that the old boy who owned it cut the air box section out of the top cover and installed a short stack with a K&N filter on it! I come across alot of people who haven't got a clue what they are doing with a chainsaw! If they can't make it run they sell them for dirt cheap! I have a couple of beautiful saws that the guy i purchased them from said ( My dad was keeping the saw for some reason, But I don't know what that reason would have been!) I don't say anything about knowing as much as I do about chainsaws. I just hand them the money and get the hell out of there before there is any chance that I might not end up with the saw! I know that if my dad had a saw all tucked away like there was something special about it i would take a couple of minutes to go look it up and see what he was saving it and not using it for! I recently purchased a Husqvarna KR760 multi purpose saw for $10:00 dollars! Hell, The Tillotson carburetor is a 255! And I am pretty sure that a 260 is as big as Husqvarna put on any of their big 2-strokes! The carburetor is worth $60:00 dollars! It is the fifth multi purpose saw that I have now. One is a XL98 Terry Industrys saw from Canada, One is a homelite XL923 i believe, It came off of a fire truck! It has a badge on the side cover that says ( property of the city of Portland, And that's where I live in Portland, Oregon. It was used back in the seventies to cut people out of car crashes before they had the jaws of life that they use today! And the one I think was a score to get my hands on is a 1977 Remington Power-R-Cut that matches my 1977 Remington SL-16 Chainsaw! I somehow have about fifteen chainsaws in my collection that were produced in 1979 which is kind of weird! Three of them are homelite 330 models, And one of those is the 250th unit made on the 250th day of the year! And one is the 79th unit produced that day in 1979. The two saws that I cherish the most are a 1959 pioneer 600 And a 1971 poulan 71A both in excellent condition! The saw that keep hoping will pass my way is the twin cylinder Echo 610 Koritz made in Japan. But I had to stop acquiring chainsaws because they are everywhere around my house and my little lady has been pushed to her limits with them And I have a collection of vintage lawnmowers as well as a homelite generator from the late sixties and a homelite Garden tractor from the early seventies. And two mid sixties 2-stroke golf course greens mowers! And a 1953 snapping turtle and a very rare riding mower with an REO Speedwagon engine that is the only one that i have ever seen in my life that I picked up for $30:00 dollars! And every time I go to pick up something, I end up bringing something else home with me that I never intended to get! The guy that sold me the REO pulls out a chainsaw that I have never seen before called a Scotsman made by the Roper company in 1978 in perfect condition for $20:00 dollars! How can you say no when you have never even seen one before?😋

@@tonymayhew191 Hello Tony 🙂 I don't know how I missed the second part of your message. Wow.. you have made some amazing purchases. I would love to see your collection. You can never have too many chainsaws. My collection is currently approaching 300 chainsaws and I love having my collection surrounding me in my workshops. History everywhere. I never get bored of looking at them or using them. Warmest regards from Wales. Rob 🌲🪵🔥

Hi Rob The grey plastic 266xp ran up to at least 1991 in parallel with the 268 It was always a strange one to me that they ran a black plastic metal chain brake 268xp in parallel with the grey plastic 266xp I had a 1991 266xp in my collection and I have really regretted selling it even though I have an as new 87 model
