Your a good man TINMAN. I want a 630 jonsered so freaking bad. I grew up in a house that stayed warm on the backs of red saws, homelites and a 70E jonsereds

Got turned on to you by our friend Buckin billy Ray. I’m glad I found your channel. I like how you both refer to us as friends because that is what the community is made up of, friends. We have different area codes, races, political affiliation but none of that matters because we like saws and trees and common respect for each other. People that leave negative messages are just small people who have a very sad existence. Your negativity is not welcome around these good men doing their best to put out good content. Thank you for helping me understand saws better🙏

Your video couldn't be more timely Tinman. I'm just finishing up a 262XP build and looking for another project to keep me busy over the winter. Kind of like the idea of a 630 with a 268 or 272 top end. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in taking up this hobby. Thanks again.

Once again very informative, Tinman. Cut a cord of wood today with my 268se, had the wrong gasket on manifold carb side. Fixed now, it cuts like a hot knife in butter. Couple of guys cutting in the same area stopped to talk and to see it cut, they were impressed how fast it cut a 18inch pine. Absolutely love the 268 I will be hunting for them for sure. Thank again buddy. Mahalo 🤙

I patched one together pretty much just like that 630 about 10 years ago. It was a 630 if I remember correctly. Dude smashed his saw,and didn't want to pay for new stuff. He had that saw forever before I had to do that. It wasn't six months before that he came in and wanted a carb kit put in. I did the work, and it ran good. I did a couple of test cut and it did well. He came back the next day mad. He said it was doing the same thing. I took it to the test log,and put the garlic to it. Sure enough about the fourth cut it leaned over. I did a quick compression test and it failed. Pulled the cylinder. The ring was paper thin on the thrust side, worn perfectly. The piston looked like brand new. I put a ring in it, and the next time I seen it ,it was smashed. It may have been a 2065. Anyway I fixed it with orange parts. He didn't even like paying for the ring job. I worked the muffler a little on the sly. He thought I did some kinda thing. Said it never ran so good, couldn't keep up with it, and that's why it ended up under the tree. Old fart worked every angle.

Tinmaaaaan, when they start that easy it's a tight build brother.. Had a clutch spring let go on my old 162 today, they completely grenade. Cover was off so lucky not to have gotten hurt. Had to mention it because you brought the 268 right up to the camera.. Lil PTSD Im guessing.. Had to share with you man, you are always entertaining and so honest. Tinman.. I bought a new Husky rancher 55 in 2000. Right away I broke all the fins on the starter cover. Didnt know that they would be so brittle on a cold winter morning. Learned to keep the saw inside where its warm in the cold weather. The oiler never worked very good. never put out enough oil. I still have it engine runs great. broke all the mounting the engine is now in a 51 case, Ive got a half dozen Huskys and some stills poulans ect. in my collection of about 50 chainsaws. Im 70 and learned something. All plastic saws are POS. My father bought a new XL12 in 64. First saw I ever used. and now Ive come full circle. I use older vintage Homelites. I have a XL12 ,a Super Xl -925 and a 550 That I use on a regular basis. Used the yesterday. Ran a tank of gas thru each one yesterday. Last week I bought a homelite101 That i plant to start using. with the internet I now can find parts for the vintage homelites. I wish someone would come and trade me some old non running vintage metal saws for some running plastic POS saws. I also bought new parts to get the Xl 12 my father bought new running again. I like the mixing of 1/2 pint oil to every gallon of gas. loud stack muffler. great clouds of smoke. No loosey goosey vibration isolation crap. Makes me smile every time I start one up.

Hey there TinBasher….Farmertec is actually buying the real walboro carb’s for their clone 272 saw’s and kits…so there’s a source for a lower price but really walboro carburetor for the 272’s or a bigger carburetor for this series if a fella is porting one and wants more fuel charge…. They are authentic direct from the horses mouth…or the President of the company…. Or a good source for that real walboro if doing a project that they would work on! Keep on Truckin, Brother!!!

Hey Tinman question for you, so when your tuning a saw with the bar off, can you run it without bar oil? Or will that burn the pump up? The other day I fired up my ms460 for the first time after porting it and just puked bar oil everywhere cause I didn't know if it would burn up the pump running it dry :(

I still have to fix the 257 that I got. Someone put the coil where it was getting hit by the flywheel every time it made a revolution. Killed the coil. The piston is horribly pitted, and it has some scoring on the exhaust side. Gonna get a new coil and a 262 top end for it when I get some extra cash.
