If you've done everything in this video and it's still not sliding back on - the ring has likely been pushed down off the feet. Pry it up so that it can expand fully and is sitting at the proper height on the feet/spacers.

I had the same issue with by new 440 up in the north woods i took the black cover off and removed the spring no safety but also no problem 👍🏻

I use to think husqvarna was almost as good as Stihl till the chain brake snapped on try and release this in the bush a real joke I fixed it permantly took high tension spring out and threw it in garbage Stihl you just reset safety guard easy peasy

Just amazing the amount of force on that spring. Thanks for the video, what a great help. Just always make sure you disengage the break before you pull that chain cover off.

Perfect. I had the same issue, diagnosed it correctly, but could not get the lock to disengage. When I saw how hard you applied pressure to turn it that gave me the courage to do the same. I was afraid of doing that and breaking something. Thanks.
