Does it also alter the ignition timing? I wonder also if they have a built-in setting that causes the engine to not run right every so many hours to force a trip to the dealer and a "firmware update"? I've heard so many stories about a person shutting their saw off only to pick it up 5sec later and then not run, after a trip to the dealer and an update then it works fine.. there should be a right to have the update software at home or a update fee paid by the manufacturer to the dealer at each update to get rid of the hidden fees and incentive for programmed running issues

I believe it does alter ignition but only as a rev limiter control.

the auto tune system changes ignition timing as well as fuel settings. The main reason this system falls off tune is people let them sit running at idle for extended time...this will cause the system to fall off tune & be hard to start and/or cause running problems....firmware is proprietary software and can only be updated by a husky dealer...there is no sneaky system in the auto tune system that will force you back to a dealer....issues are usually caused by the operator.....ive been in the small engine trade 40 years, am a gold husky service tech, and have seen just about every failure this system can come up with.

I have a new 555 which has auto tune. I currently don’t have access to a longer log to run it under load for 45 seconds or more. Can I simple just let it idle on the first run for 3-5 minutes and let it adjust or does it have to be run under a load for maximum performance?
@ForestApps Жыл бұрын
Why do you think it’s not already calibrated? Is it not idling correctly? Is wide open too low or high?
@dkdogs Жыл бұрын
@@ForestApps I haven’t even put gas in it yet. Just doing my research on auto tune, I’ve seen multiple sources say you need to let it first idle for 3-5 minutes to “tune” itself at first and then the next step is to run it for approximately 45 seconds under a load without stopping for maximum performance.
@ForestApps Жыл бұрын
You are correct. The high side must be held with load for at least a minute to calibrate - after idling for 5 to 6 minutes. You only have to do it once. You can use a ripping cut down a log to hold it under load at high rpm. A four ft log should be sufficient. You can just cut deep enough to keep a load on the chain. Run the saw down the log a couple times.

Does it also control ignition timing as well?
@ForestApps9 ай бұрын
Yes and ignition controlled governor.

Problem. If the saw had fuel issues like old fuel being left in the tank for long periods of time. After cleaning and replacing the fuel filter how does one reset the autotune if the saw can't stay idling for 5 minutes
@ForestApps3 ай бұрын
I would just try cutting, keeping it under load for a minute or two then turn it off and then restart and see if it will idle. After idle a few minutes just normal cutting under load. If that doesn’t work there may be some varnish in the carburetor.

@@ForestApps. Already found the issue. A vacuum leak after doing a pressure check. The carburetor was fine

Husky auto tune absolutely sucks on all levels. I've had nothing but problems with it. Lately, my t540xp had given up idling without my finger in the trigger. Husky won't honor their warranty either which is really sweet.
@ForestApps3 ай бұрын
Why are you sure it’s the Auto-Tune?
@gmacken4203 ай бұрын
@@ForestApps It either that or an air leak. In any case, their products aren't what they used to be and their warranty is garbage.

@@gmacken420 How old is your saw? How many hours of running do you think?

@@ForestApps It's less than a year old. Its a t540xp MKIII. Maybe has 100 hours on it.

As we all know, when it comes to chainsaws STIHL RUNS THE YARD!!!!!!!!!!!! This auto tune that Husqvarna has is nothing more than an imitation of what Stihl has been doing for years on their professional saws.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤷🏿♂️ COLD HARD FACTS

I find there are a lot of personal preferences on saws and trucks. I say most all saws today are pretty good. It’s up to the operator to make them the best one…

Better anti vibe, the biggest saw on the market, simpler to work on. Yeah stihl sure has husqvarna beat while not being user friendly 🤣
