Chainsaw is always easier to start if it's been properly maintained. Afterward, the steps you take to start your chainsaw depend on whether you're starting your saw cold or warm. Starting A Cold Engine. When you start your chainsaw cold, you're starting a saw that hasn't been running. It might be the first time you've started your chainsaw that day. Pull the switch out and up to set it in choke position. 2. Press the decompression valve. 3. Press the air purge several times. 4. Pull the starter rope handle slowly until you feel resistance. Then pull firmly and rapidly until the engine fires and you hear a pop or a sound like a cough. This is the sound of the engine trying to start. The engine will not keep running at this point. 5. Press the switch down. • This will add air to the mixture of fuel being fed to the engine so that it can run consistently without being flooded. Pull the starter rope handle again. Keep pulling until the saw starts; once it does, it will continue to run. 6. Accelerate so that the engine low idles. Starting A Warm Engine. If you have recently used the chainsaw, turned if off for a few minutes, and are ready to use it again. 1. Mov the switch up and push down. 2. Press the decompression valve. Even with a warm saw, pressing the decompression valve is still a helpful step. 3.Press the air purge several times. Pressing this bulb will push excess air out of your fuel lines. 4. Pull the starter rope handle until the engine starts. 5. Accelerate so that the engine low idles.

Why does the saw idle fast when it's started cold until you give it a shot of gas? I have the same saw and it does the same as yours...

Pulling the red switch outward - upward and press down activates a half throttle position (fast idle). The saw will be revving and the chain spinning when it starts that doesn't release until you pull the throttle trigger. It is normal.

Prolly the choke lock engages half throttle until you tap the throttle to disengage the choke but I think these are electronic chokes so I have no idea about these saws

So it looks like you dont give it any gas manually on the warm start. You just turn on the choke for a minute then turn it to start and pull. Is that what Im seeing? Because mine will not restart after its warm till the next day so I figure im flooding it

By moving the switch up and push down is what sets engine to high idle (half gas).

This is all nice if it would start out the box, I followed the manual and still wont start, 1800 number is BS points you to a website, where you have to try to explaining what is going on in a chat with computer geeks that sit at a computer all day and read you back the manual, and then they want you call a local dealer. I think I will take the POS back to Lowes.

Mine never failed to start for 3 years. It's may favorite gas chainsaw, because of that.

Do I have to or can remove speed governor for higher speed,or it's just adjust automatically when I run it? Thanks

Nothing can be removed. The speed limiter built into the ignition system is designed to protect your engine from speeding. Maximum speed is set during loaded running, such as cutting and felling. The idle part is set when the chainsaw idles for some time.
