Excellent video!!!! My Husquvana is like 20 years old. Then, they didn't sell just the cable. They wanted the whole assembly for $79. And this happened the first year I owned, rear wheel drive, 1 lever to adjust all 4 tires, etc. So I went looking for cable. Found some at a TSC store although slightly thicker but it still fit through the rubber hose. I used the broken cable to give me the desired length. Then feed through the rubber original hosing. Now I needed the metal ends as I tried to use with no success. So I went to the tackle box, got a couple of those little lead sinkers you slide on your fishing line, and crimp on your line. I put one on each end. I then used my cheap soldering gun, flux, and welded them on while working to get the approximate shape of the original ends. Then I attached as you have shown and it's been working great for almost 15 years. Cost me $3.29

thank u...greatly appreciate the step by step AND the part number as Husqvarna's site sucks and doesn't show the cable part number.

Very helpful thank you. You wouldn't happen to know what size those screws for the drive control are would you?. Different Husqvarna (7021r) but same drive control. Unfortunately I have no screws to mount it to the handle.

i appreciate the how-to. however, unfortunately mine is an awd model and the cable goes into the rear of the deck, so this isn't for me i'm afraid.

My drive cover does not have a visible fastener on its top. Do you know how to remove such a cover without breaking?

Same here. Have you gotten any ideas since then?

Please show cable replacement on the RWD 21" and is it necessary to pull off all the plastic protection sheath on the mower's under side? Also, why ISN'T there a protective screen above the blade where the belt is exposed to grass clippings and moisture. I have to replace the cable 21/2 years after purchase.

Did you ever find out how to do this on the RWD?

You kinda skipped over how to attach the cable to the transmission. Even watching multiple times it’s hard to understand. I have a 6 year old model that doesn’t look exactly like this. Please adjust your comments.

No value to me mine is a 7021R Rear Drive this is for a front drive
@AtlasVRC3 жыл бұрын
While it's in the front and some parts are different the idea is the same...ish, still can learn a lot from this. I also have a 7021r. Found it in a reuse area and am rebuilding it bit by bit, I love it. Parts like the drive control assembly, cables and stuff are all the same.
