One good thing I've discovered about lower traction tires... you slide before you tip over. I REALLY like that when mowing on slopes.

I’ve had one of these for 7 years now and it still runs as good today as it did when I got it new. I have had to replace a couple of spindles but they’re not expensive and easy to replace. Like I said, it still runs great and I’ve been cutting about 2 acres with it every time I mow.

Didn't read all of the replies so sorry if I'm repeating some info. I'm 61 yrs old and have been cutting grass since 1960. My hobby is also Z mowers...I have a fully commercial mower that I mow my 8 acres with. If you'll let the air pressure down to 8-9 psi you'll be very surprised at how much better the ride is and you will also notice better traction. Tire PSI is so fundamental I'm surprised when everyone who use mowers don't know not to use the Max psi stated on tires. As it says, it's the Max psi....not the pressure you need on a lwanmower of this weight. Enjoy the mower! It's always nice to get a new toy....uh....I mean "tool". :-)

Really enjoy the review, very helpful. Having to replace our 14 yr old Craftsman 42" rider and want to get the zero turn. The biggest compaint on the craftsman was the deck. Mower engine lasted 14 years; mowed with holes in the deck for the last 6 years. And I pick up limbs, ect. before cutting my acre plus. Really like the idea of 10 year warranty on deck and the ease of air filter replacement, and oil change (even though the cap was diffucult the first time). and we will check the zerk fittings before 1st use.:) I think we are going to stay with 42" cut and the video gave me lots of reasonable questions to ask about the mower on our search. Thanks again!

I just bought one off of Craigslist. Don't laugh. It came with 1.9 hours on it. It seems that the purchaser purchased this mower, then lost his job later in the week. Bad for him-good for me. I paid 2500.00 for essentially a new mower. The only flaw I've notice is the zerk fittings on the front wheels. They leak grease where they were apparently welded the the wheel. The original owner did not fill out the warranty card so I am going to give that a shot. Your review was the reason I pulled the trigger on this purchase. Very helpful and informative. I spent about an hour with my tools going over all of the nuts and bolts. I mow 4.5 acres and have cut significant time over my previous mower. (Ford 1520 compact diesel with a 60 inch deck). My first ZT but am very pleased so far. My only real complaint is the handles do not secure in the neutral position if you stop. Is there a way to tighten this up a bit....? Thanks for the detailed video.

Ok, The zerk fittings just needed tightened a bit and no more grease leaking. Should have had my glasses on initially. The mower will stop when the handles are pushed out. That is what I was looking for. Mower has 12 hours on it now and runs perfect. So far, so good.

Thank you for sharing. Just bought one and cut for 1.5 hours till 11:15 PM. This mower is fast and the HPower is a big plus. Looking forward to keep my 4 -5 acres in control from now on. Thanks again for sharing!

For commercial purposes where you earn your living from this... no. For one that you own and this is the only lawn that you do, I'm sold. Nice. honest video, very helpful, and I want this one... Husqvarna products have not disappointed me yet.

Thanks for the comments! BTW, be sure to check the tightness of your zerk (grease) fittings. I had one come off a spindle yesterday while mowing. I plan to put some loctite on my spindle zerk fittings to make sure it doesn't happen again.

yea Sears is coming out this week.. to address multiple issues.. And a ZERK fitting on one spindle is on the list.. along with the tack welded part under the mower deck..(big problem) but hopefully sears stands behind their products, and they have in the past from my experience

Thanks for your review. I have the same mower, but its a Craftman brand built by Husqvarna for Sears. the only difference is I have a 24hp Briggs and Stratton. I have a lawn service, and it has been running really good and is a real time saver.

I recently bought one to replace one of my aging mowers. This is my first zero turn mower. I used it for the first time yesterday. I was cutting grass that was wet (we've had a lot of rain here in the last week) and had not been cut in 2 weeks. While on the lowest setting (A), the deck belt jumped off twice. My John Deere 145 would cut through it without any problems. After moving the deck up one notch (to B) I did not have any further problems. Two things I dislike about the mower. First, while putting the deck belt back on, I noticed the cheap black plastic pulleys. You can see two of them in the video. For the price, they should be metal. Very cheap looking and feeling. Second, as you mentioned, the tires. They are TERRIBLE for traction. That became immediately obvious. With those 2 points out of the way, it is a good mower and I am happy with my purchase overall. However I did buy mine a lot cheaper than the $3199 Lowe's price. I would comment on the positives but you covered most of it in your video.

Just bought one and so far I like it. My only complaint is that the deck level control arm sticks up right next to the right wheel controls and waa hitting it while I was cutting and trying to push the right wheel control out to stop the mower in emergency. I was lucky I only ran into some stacked bricks and not my truck or down the creek bank. But with some getting use to I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Hi Kill-o-Byte, Certainly the best video I have seen on the Zero Turn mowers. I am a 30 year retired facility supervisor and have used many zero turn mowers over the years and you are the only one I have seen cover things important to maintaining these things, like grease zerks and access. As I compare the new line of mowers I am looking for one for my home use and the Husky comes out on top. You have had yours for about 3 years now, how is it holding up? Your 3 year ownership will likely shape my purchase. thank you Gary

I have a 2000 Troy Bilt 50 inch Mustang TZR Mower. The Deck Housing rusted where the Spindle Assembly are mounted. Basically, out of commission will cost an arm and a leg to fix. I may buy me another ZTR mower. But really need some advice. I mow eight (8) acres. Limited trees but very rough terrain. Not so much as gravel or rocks but had 18 wheelers drive through these fields many moons ago and they left wheel tracks, dips, trenches, canals, etc. Lol. Very violent ride. Also there are some areas which have steep hills. Any suggestions on which brand(s) could handle the following: I'm not worried about speed as the terrain really doesn't allow me to go top speed. But reliability and durability are top of the list. Preferably a larger gas tank (at least 4 gallon). And wider mowing deck... Minimum 54inch. Finally, comfort for a big man. Please share. Thanks, DPP

i just bought this mower...Sears has a model (z6700 FROM 2014) with a 24 HP briggs motor... it has lights built in (light sockets are horrible i need to replace them) but I just bought it last week... It was on clearance for $1,800... I told the manager if they can do it for $1500 ill take it... So they were cool with that...(to my surprise) but this mower is great.. It is exact and made by Husqvarna starts with 917 (model #) . As long as you break in the motor properly, and USE Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil after the 10 hr break in period....it will LAST!!! I have 700 hours on my briggs intek 22 HP on the DEERE... and it purrrrrrrrssss!!!! Nice mower though!!! I wish mine was orange... but Craftsman red will have to do....

Send it back! I had this reviewed model for 3 years and am thankful I got rid of it. Husqvarna makes some good products but the residential zero turn it does not! They are just not well built. Perhaps they will get better in the future but they're not there yet. If you can, spend more and buy a commercial grade mower (hustler, bobcat, scag, etc....). They will last 5 times as long and save you a ton of money in the long haul.

It's nice to be able to grease any moving part however I've repaired many greaseable spindles to find out they have sealed bearings in them the grease can not get into the bearings I do suspect they came from the factory that way go figure???

The Kohler 7000 series motor isn't recommend for commercial use so that should tell you something about it. I know there is many people who use them for commercial use but I highly doubt they will get over 1200-1500 hours of trouble free engine use !?? As where some commercial built motors last up to 4500 hours.

I think your deck baffles are mounted wrong. What you call reinforcement is suppose to be bolted on the bottom edge of deck and not the top edge. Mine is that way.You can see this in parts manual. The R in model number is for residential or homeowner. Not for commercial mowing business. For those people thinking your review was aimed at the best machine ever.

I hate it to cause you will spin and get stuck very easy. My deck is coming apart, I called about the warranty on the deck and they told me that the warranty is limited. if they determine it is the operator fault they will not fix but if it is manufactory then they will replace it. You have to take it to a shop and it has to be a shop that represents Husqvarna and that costs about $60.00 to $75.00 a hour if it is your fault then you pay but if they think it is the manufacturer they will pay for everything. So good luck on this warranty........

+N. Solis It's not a commercial grade mower. It will cut a good amount of grass in a short time, but it won't last as long as a commercial grade mower will. That being said, if the price is right...
