Have Had mine for about two years there are two oil plugs, one at the rear and one on the side of the engine with a black plug, which I looked in the owners manual, not noted of it kind of strange? The only reason I found out is it came somewhat loose and it was seeping oil out of there and I found it .

@@jaapongeveer6203 You’ll have to make your own custom.as I did go to Home Depot buy 3” treaded pipe and brass cap for the end.. Take your plug on side to know exact tread size and diameter that’s it brother 👍🏼👍🏼 Alan H

Same here. No freakin' drain pipe! I went and bought a fluid evacuator, takes me about 5 minutes to change the oil now, plus I can use the evacuator for changing the oil in all of my other toys.

I don't have a drain pipe and plan to buy the fluid evacuator. Is the oil plug located next/under the recoil handle?

I went to change my oil and when I loosened the drain plug, there was no washer. Never leaked on me during last winter, so maybe they have a newer cap that doesn't require the washer?
@jeef24916 жыл бұрын
This implies that the oil can be changed only when it's freezing or below freezing. How can that be? Surely the engine will run when it's 50 degrees F. outside; I think people tend to change the oil during non-winter months so the blower will be ready for snow.
@grsolutions36076 жыл бұрын
The idea was to select an oil grade regarding the temperature conditions the machine will be used. The freezing temperature came from the fact that usually the snow blowers are used when temperatures are below 0 C (32F). The oil change can be done at 27C (80F) BUT the grade of oil used HAS TO BE for machines functioning at temperatures under 0C(32F). If you do the oil change at 27C and run the engine .... do it for a short period of time because the grade of OIL will protect the engine best at temperatures less then 0C (32F).

5w30 is fine for all temperature ranges. That's why it's called a multigrade oil

My manual for my Husqvarna ST224 says it should be 32oz of oil. But this says 16oz. I am confused.
