Great fix but if the reverse portion of the peddle has disappeared check to make sure that where the transaxle bolts to the frame has not broken as well. This will throw things out of alignment but the tractor can still operate until they break completely. This is fairly common I found out. The brackets start to break, transaxle tilts, and peddle alignment is changed. Eventually drive belt will get thrown. You may try and reattach the belt or put on a new one unware of the more serious issue.

Witnessed this myself on several Husqvarna and Craftsman tractors with the Tuff Torq K46 transaxle. Bad design on how the transaxle is mounted in the tractor.

Nice fix. Another easy 1 would be to pull it off and simply turn it half way around then slid it back on. There isn't a groove so it will just natural sit higher.

Clean the dirt out from under the variator pulleys.

Mine will not mow in reverse. Mover wants to stall while the blades are ingauged.

chip marshall this one has a certain position to turn the key that allows for mowing in reverse.

Mine was super sluggish, this fix really made using reverse a viable option now.
