Home Depot has clear 1/2 in. tubing. 10 feet for less than $7.00. You'll be able to see the oil draining.

Listen to Dennis, he knows of what he speaks. Make the aluminum foil boat, you will save yourself a huge mess. Be careful with that plastic release valve, I was afraid to over tighten it and it leaked till I got back down there and gave it a little more umph. That thing should be metal. Thank you again Dennis. That was a lifesaver video.

Got a new one for Father's Day and haven't reached the 10 hour oil change point yet.Fooled around checking with that oil drain tube.Didn't look too good to me so I went to Home Depot and got some clear 1/2 in. tubing. I needed some for other things also so I got 10 feet for $6.xx

Appreciate your videos, Dennis...and the very end of this sparked a question! What did you do to enable you to start it without being on the seat? I know it's a 'safety' feature, so it's at my own risk! Did you disconnect the pressure switch at the back of the seat?
@dwcoffey4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! No, I haven't disabled anything.....it lets me start it as long as the blades are disengaged and both steering arms are in the parked position (all the way out). If your won't do this, check the space behind the steering arm levers at their pivot points. I've had grass and dirt accumulate there to the lever won't fully go to the outside and thus prevents the 'parked' safety switch to make.

I'm not sure how I like that the pump fans don't have a cover over them. I'm assuming the fans are plastic?
@dwcoffey Жыл бұрын
They are plastic and they accumulate a lot of dirt in the hubs. Doesn't seem to affect performance, but I wish there were caps on the hubs. Thanks for watching!

I need help. My drain plug will not loosen. With the design, it’s difficult to get both my hands in that small area. The whole thing wants to turn
@dwcoffey Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! You will probably have to remove the oil filter to get access to the drain valve. There are two flats on the rim of the valve, where it threads into the block, you can use those to tighten the entire valve and keep it from turning. If there isn't enough room to tighten it that way, you'll probably have to unbolt the engine and lift it up enough to get a full turn on the valve. Alternatively, you might be able to get a 7/32 allen wrench into the end of the valve (inside the 10mm plug), then hold the valve body to loosen the drain plug. I hope this helps!
@TReagan81 Жыл бұрын
@@dwcoffey Thanks. I took it back to the dealer. They replaced the drain plug.

Question I hope you can help with . I just bought a used mower with a fr691v Kawasaki engine. It has two hoses coming off the carburetor. One to the fuel pump and the other is just laying loose. Could you possibly tell me where it connects? Also the engine will not start if it is below 50° f. Any ideas? Thank you
@dwcoffey2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Mac! I'm only aware of one fuel line to the carb....there should be a nipple on the side of the carb and the line attached to it should come from the fuel pump. Where on the carb is the other line attached?
