And something that really stood out to me in the movie was the fact that she was one of the few strippers in the film that literally never got naked even once and yet she was the showstopper and truly stood out from start to finish. Learning pole was one of the hardest and most painful things I’ve ever done -.- The bruises, the falls and the burns were NEXT. LEVEL! And just spending a minute on the pole (without touching the ground) was gruelling and exhausting. Serious props to jlo for this kind of dedication and this seriously shows how incredibly fit she is, regardless of age!

What's up with the burn marks on her legs?? 😳 I'm guessing her legs are getting chaffed when her skin slides down the pole? Does that normally happen to all pole dancers or is that only because she's new to it? I ride horses and get leg chaffing that looks very similar to that if I attempt to ride in shorts (leather saddles against bare legs =very painful sores) So I can't imagine dealing with that every time she pole dances.. Age has nothing to do with it. Her job needs her body to work to perform well at her job. If your day-to-day does not require your body to be fit, than you will likely not be fit. If you want to be fit and healthy and agile like she is at 50, you have to USE your body and MOVE. Age and fitness do not have anything to do with one another - you can be out of shape at 10 years old or out of shape at 70 years old OR you can make a choice to be healthy and fit at any age (but it's easier to get into shape if you start when you're young/NOW because it's harder to build muscle/maintain tone as you age).

I admire the discipline this woman put in training (and JLo as well) and doing it everyday...iit is a very demanding activity, but usually majority of these girls have dance background. Besides admiring that hard work, I honestly don't like her body that much, it's too muscular and she has no waist and a masculine midsection due to the fact that pole dancing requires a very strong core and strong arms/shoulders, and also lots of plasticity. Said that, just a personal opinion, this doesn't not deny the fact that she is super skilled, athletic and good at what she does. Regarding JLo let's not forget that she was a dancer so she is used to it ..she works out every day, she has a special lifestyle and it's also very hard working...there are also common women who have great bodies and faces....JLo has more billions for sure :-)

Very True. It took me years to master everything when it came to real pole dancing. I remember coming home with so many bruises and burns the first few months. It keeps you fit. Real pole dancing is not about taking all your clothes off.

This movie is why I got back into pole dancing! I had tried it in university and fell in love with it, and after seeing Hustlers in 2019 I signed up for pole classes, bought my own pole and haven’t looked back. Almost 4 years later, I’m training regularly and have been running a project called The Empowered Pole Dance Project, where I interview pole dancers to hear about their pole journeys and how their lives have been changed by pole, while at the same time raising awareness about the health benefits of pole dancing.
