@@hazzardalsohazzard2624 I'll put like this due to how the Flu and Colds were treated forever where at lease in the US we had to go to school so they didn't give a shit about kids being sick and making others sick. It was "productivity > everything". Then even going to HIV/AIDS there wasn't a lockdown for that. Then right before the rona we get this ebola scare that most of the US looked at that like "man that ain't shit" Now due to poltics over the past 20 year or so causing this burnout it makes perfect sense a lot of people stopped trusting "experts" since experts can be paid off too. When there's money made and or messages to be pushed you have to be wary of people.

I am definitely on Hutch's side for the hospitalization angle. Both my parents work in a hospital and the burnout of employees is the worst they have ever seen it. I have seen my dad go from pretty okay or positive about his job and perfectly willing to take extra shifts for monetary bonuses that have since doubled and he won't even consider them now because of the burnout. There is definitely a narrative that could have been given that makes people more empathetic to hospital workers.

Just from my experience (Germany), this didnt really help. Moreover, healthcare workers that just make a random post/give an interview about stress/conditions at work have huge targets painted on their backs because their work life suddenly has a "political dimension" and many anti-vaxers, especially online, only are bare of any reason and "fire on sight" so to say. As a conservative who watches destiny's content, you can all hate me all you want, BUT Destiny is completely right about mandates. It's too difficult politically. I have so many lefties coming out being like "I'm getting tired of this.." Too many obvious contradictions from politicians and scientists plus how riled up the Right is on this issue, it just won't happen. As a vaccinated conservative, it's a losing issue. Most of us know the vaxxes are fine but can't make the leap to forced vaccinations. Move on to a crowd pleaser like Weed legalization and you can earn some conquest votes from libertarians and veterans. Plus it forces the Right into an untenable position of fighting against cannabis legalization in 2022.

@@dropoutcourt Right? Biden is personally very anti cannabis and I wonder if that's bleeding into policies he would consider pushing. I'm hoping he's enough of a puppet where party pressure can convince him to pursue more popular policies. I'm a weed smoking conservative and I promise there's a ton of purple votes in that issue. And all dems are seemingly defeatist about midterms, which I get, but it's so toxic. Dems need popular policies to push which forces the repubs to defend the opposite. But all the defeatist stuff and focusing mandates seems like they're handing the midterms to the repubs. I'm still in between both but I feel like repubs are always more optimistic. I feel like the left needs more energy and excitement and rallying. I think pushing weed and tie it to criminal justice reform, tons of optics wins there. I wish strategy were considered more when content creators discuss policy and I like that destiny has a grasp of what political capital is.

@@coky18 Think we’ll have to wait for a 2 or 3 boomer generation to die before it can get passed federally. Till then the red state voters will have to make it felt in their elections that weed is just as important to them as their other traditionally important issues (abortion, guns, etc.)…
@coky18
@coky18 2 жыл бұрын
@@williamthebonquerer9181 that's all political as well. Anti Vax used to be a California hippy lefty thing and they thought they caused autism. Politics just played out to make it partisan. Your observation further exemplifies my point that non political challenges can easily become political, and political strategy is determining the best positions to hold and what issues are losers. I know it sounds unromantic but it's reality Convincing your opponents to be against something untenable is just as important as making sure your own position is a winner. Defund police forced the right to have the easiest win ever. They just had to be somewhat pro law and order and they got major points. That was purely a political failure. If it was reframed as criminal justice reform and tied to something like Weed that bleeds beyond party lines, you can gain way more political capital and that translates to more influence.

Hospitals been strained by profit margins. Let me explain: All hospitals operate under the assumption of having 80% occupation of al their available beds. (Available beds means all the beds they have nurses and caretakers available for. ) If a hospital had 100 beds available they need to have 80 beds occupied to be able to run the building & employees and be able to make profit. So hospitals under stain mean that they can't stay in that zone of profit, could be for different reasons depending on the situation.

Maybe I'm delusional but it seems like most people are upset with Biden/Dems about the pandemic still being around and the inflation that has come from that. Well, thanks to Omicron it looks like we are headed for something much closer to normalcy by the summer (many infected, mild symptoms - therefore, mass natural immunity + vaccines + additional therapeutics) and the Federal Reserve/leading economists predict ~3% inflation by the end of the year. Add in Biden getting a black woman on the Supreme Court (promise kept) and the SC overturning/weakening Roe v. Wade by June, and you can start to see how things could turn out much differently for the Dems than people are currently saying.

It's clear the president and VP doesn't make the decisions, and they're just puppets. It's not hard to formulate sentences if the thoughts are your own, but when you speak someone elses it's harder, and it's obvious they're not speaking their own minds. AOC holidays in Florida without a mask and contracting covid, while publically complaining about Florida not having mask mandates. Pelosi gets the heads up on all laws they're gonna propose, and she has the inside info on which laws will pass. She passes that info around the dinner table and makes her family and friends rich off of the inside information. Everyone talked about Trump's Quid Pro Quo (and I agree, it was) with Ukraine, but blows off Biden's Quid Pro Quo as a conspiracy theory, when Biden literally bragged about it on national TV. BIden fucked up with Afghanistan, and now they're negotiating with Taliban. USA never negotiated with terrorists, but now they are, and they're forcing all western countries to participate in it. Spending millions on shipping war criminals around to negotiate terms with them. Fucking insanity. You don't seem to have the slightest idea of what's going on, or you're incapable of understanding it. Or you're just as dishonest as the lefties who just want their team to win, and will lie every time someone confronts you/them about it. Trump was a fucking twat, and so is Biden. USA needs a younger president, and the world needs to stop catering to mentally ill people who's lives revolve around Twitter.

@@Name-cz5jj You’re hopelessly wrong from the start. Before you even look at the why. Stop consuming content from paranoid lunatics and memes on the internet. 1. CDC didn’t cynically change their stances. Natural immunity has been found to be more effective, but vaccines are centrally important because getting covid for its own sake still presents risks, and the benefit is only for those who make it out the other end, recovered, with anti-bodies and no long covid. There is no vaccines bad and immunity good angle; they’re both good, and as the evidence improved, the stance and accommodation of recovered (with tested anti bodies) individuals was increased. 2. Go and have a look at data and studies - not alt media garbage - regarding polio in the developing world. Unlike COVID, which was heavily infectious but not quite as debilitating when it comes to a wider group of people, Polio can have even worse and far-reaching affects on a population, rendering many physically disabled from youth. Of course vaccination rates massively increased immunity amongst the majority, leaving only a small margin of the population that aren’t vaccinated but could get away with it without acquiring a highly infectious disease. One that would fizzle away, unlike a scenario where it is allowed to spread amongst majority outward with more people getting infected and the spread and prevalence being exponential.

Hospital staff are overworked more often due to staffing shortages than actual patient volume. It's also important to note that hospitals become overwhelmed several times a year due to non coronavirus ilnesses such as the flu. This is mainly due to our healthcare system not being properly designed to handle large amounts of patients. Most people are pretty numb to the government saying "the hospitals are overwhelmed" because they hear it so often.

@Destiny (indulge me, it's 100% in the best of faiths) 10:34 is a contradiction, because you're saying mandates are politically a giga-L. I think you're underestimating the net impact on the public health system. I beseech you to stress-test your distrust in the numbers. Hospitals were overworked, unequipped, and a couple days' time from seeded infections in an area for a hospital -> county -> city to get overwhelmed. The progression of all this stuff is quite well documented (not a VAERS-level assertion, trust). I'm not disagreeing that people are tired, but the....*need* for addressing this public health crisis way more aggressively can't be understated. The mutations are random. Yes, selection will tend towards less lethal and more contagious, but we still are at the mercy of probabilities, directly proportional to how many incubators we have. The deaths are rolling in, in the face of a ready solution (albeit a bungled coordinated effort, i.e., we're takin' a cocktail, collectively, or we're just flailing till further notice, except with more variants. Tbh, the long term health concerns are not to be understated either. I won't link, but I think you can parse well enough - google "viral hypothesis dementia". tl;dg: the plaques are cages. Kinda morbidly cool. Anyways, please reconsider your relationship with the virus, it's kind of a big ask from a rando but I figured I might as well try. Really appreciate the content and spirit of the endeavor as a whole. Cheers mate

I think Russia is hoping for this: 1. They invade Eastern Ukraine taking it pretty easy due to the terrain and the Russian separatist support (which they will propagandize to show how they are liberators). 2. They bombard Kyiv from afar for awhile from the east and perhaps northwest as their soldiers move in from Belarus. 3. They use the fear generated from this for negotiations during a cease fire to officially control Eastern Ukraine largely along the Dnieper River (including officially controlling Crimea), get protections from sanctions, and get an agreement that the remaining portion of Ukraine west of the Dnieper River agree to never join NATO. In exchange for sparing the western part of Ukraine which would be much more annoying to take over (though they can return to it later in a few years if they want). If the negotiations start going poorly, they continue bombarding the heck out of Kyiv until things go better.
