Never ever use a wire nut to twist solid core wires together. Always , twist solid core wires together and then put wire nut on.

I depends on how many wires there are and the gauge really. Pre twisting is always preferred but actually not required but some wire nut manufacturers believe it or not. A bigger problem is people not using the right size for the conductor size and amount I think.

This guy is smart, but you will look like an idiot if you go on a job working like this. Don't go to trade schools! Learn this trade by calling every Electrician in your area, and tell them you will accept minimum wage to work. The book work can be self taught. You will get paid to learn and you won't be in debt.
