Great job, my daughter was having the same problem, easy to disassemble, grease had gotten onto the contacts, cleaned with electrical parts cleaner, treated with a contact lubricant, make sure to put the main black gear into the centerline position for installation, or you will have to disassemble and reassemble..... to get it installed over the blend door connection. Toughest part is getting the darned thing out, like working in a cramped closet. Nut driver worked well.

So I’ve changed the temp sensor today and I got my ac to work but the blend door actuator will close on its own after blowing ac for a few minutes I’m able to cycle hot and cold but when sitting on cold it’ll change to hot after a few minutes… I paid Ford they said it was the blend door actuator and the hvac module. I changed them and still same issue.
@DrivingIntelligence Жыл бұрын
thanks for checking in... hard to me to diagnose from a distance, but did the module change include the temperature knob, rather the component the knob is attached to?
@DrivingIntelligence Жыл бұрын
Just did a little research and looks like the module includes all controls. What I see is that there are 3 options for this failure and you've already fixed 2 of them: 1. Blend Door Actuator 2, EVAP Temp Sensor 3, HVAC Control Module. Looks like it's time to change the EVAP Temp Sensor. It's a little involved to get to it, but there are some videos on KZbin that show how to replace the unit. Here is the part: amzn.to/3Z4XRWf

You never said where the location of the door actuator is

You are absolutely correct! My apologies. I just added the following comment in the description. Thanks for your help: "The Blend Door Actuator is located under the driver side dash against the hump in the center of the vehicle, to the right of the gas pedal"

I have a similar issue with my fusion 2012 sel, plus the air control switches don't work as well. I tried changing the blend door actuator. still, it doesn't work out. any suggestions?
@DrivingIntelligence3 жыл бұрын
Hi Hari, did you check to see if the blend door is movable? When I fixed this car, I used pliers to VERY GENTLY turn the blend door. It could be your blend door is stuck. Also, did you test the movement of your blend door actuator without having it attached? As I did in the video? Make sure you are getting a good connection. Lastly, make sure your pincount is the same on both blend doors (the original versus the new).

I know this comment is a couple months old. But in case your still having an issue this may be helpfull. There are usually three blend door actuators on fusions. One for the tempurature blend. One for the recirculate door(switches between outside air or recirculate air from in the car). And the third is usually called the blend (mode) actuator which is what changes zone output from floor to dash to defrost vents. So first youd need to decide which of these functions is failing to operate. If your buttons and dials for controlling these dont appear to be on(no lights and no change between zones or temp) its usually that its lost power coming from a blown fuse or a bad relay to the climate(hvac and heater) controls. The fuse panel usually wont give specifics on which fuse supllies what. But your owners manual will give you a break down of all the systems running on each fuse. If youve never checked fuses before they have a wire inside them thats visible. If you pull the one that the owners manual shows for climate control a good fuse will have a solid one piece wire inside it. If its blown there will be a break (gap) in the wire. If its blown replace it with a new fuse of the SAME AMP RATING. never put a fuse in with a higher amp rating cuz if theres a part thats overdrawing power the higher amp fuse wont blow and the wiring can overheat and potentially start a fire.

@@1ftintheflames excellent advice, thank you. In the case of the vehicle I was working on, it was obvious that the temperature blending was the issue. All other functions you mention were working properly. But, your advice is well taken in case there are other problems, e.g., going from dash to floor, etc. Please continue to provide your advice!

@@1ftintheflames where is the mode actuator located on a 2010 fusion? My air doesn't come out of any of the vents no matter what setting. It blows cold
@1ftintheflames3 жыл бұрын
@@hugeblackman69 its usually on the drivers side of the center console. So to the right of drivers legs. Its at about the same height as the steering column(which you must unbolt and drop to the floor to access the actuator as theres only a small access hole in the aluminum frame of the console to remove it through. If you give me an email and i can send diagram

Did you have to reset, reprogram or sync the new actuator at all?

I’ve heard that’s required, but it was not necessary with what I did

Hi, it appears I have a different problem now. I changed the actuator but when i plug it in it automatically goes to the hot setting even when the A/C is on. If i remove it and manually place the actuator in the cold position I can feel it move to hot even when to climate control is off. Do you think I am looking at a new climate control panel?

@@996superhawk996 have you checked the diagnostic codes? Do you have a check engine light? Really could be a multitude of issues at this point.
