Inrush for amp measurements is a great feature on your next meter. I use fieldpiece meters and they seem to do the job well. Fluke is obviously the best but they don’t pack them with features like the fieldpiece… that compressor is locked for sure. I bet there is a oil issue in that system.

Trms function on the amprobe meter gets the peak amp draw and locks it in, as you can see

Today was my first time working on a VRF citi multi Mitsubishi out here in central California. They’re extremely rare here more common in the Bay Area. I had a blank Tstat only displaying central and would not allow me to adjust temp or turn on/off. I traced the wiring back to the air handler and the stat was receiving 11dc volts. My naive diagnostic would be bad thermostat since it’s getting power,but something tells me I’m very wrong can’t be that simple lol I tried calling tech support was on hold for over an hour I gave up

They’re starting to be installed more in new commercial buildings i’m noticing would be great if my company could get us some training on this type of equipment. Seems like it’s a lot of what you deal with in New York.

Thank you for the video. Just went to a Mitsubishi Trane training and was great. Trying to get a hold of LG to explore their VRF Products and I can't. Can you use an iPad with LG? Did you connect to the unit via Bluetooth? Thank you.

Can you reverse the phase on the compressor terminals and have it turn reverse to unlock the compressor. is that possible?

Unlikely because these are inverter operated compressors , starting torque /power is very low
