Love Ecobee thermostats . Have to be the best thermostat available. Only thermostat that allows you set run time thresholds and avoid rampant cycling like every Honeywell. That bee would be under warranty
@rumblertag141916 күн бұрын
Is that why they always burn up the relay inside when used for energizing the reversing valve on a heat pump, replaced soooo many of them they just don’t make the relay inside sturdy enough
@stephenjenner48416 күн бұрын
@ I hate how Honeywell thermostats have some kind of pre programmed algorithm that will make them cycle multiple times an hour for some times less than 3mins per cycle . They are so hard on equipment. An Ecobee has equipment run time threasholds that can be set. For example: you set a threshold to make the ac condenser run for 15mins non stop regardless of if it over cools. You can also set a threshold to force it to stay off for a pre determined amount of time. On my opinion they really extend the life of equipment. Pretty awesome product developed in Canada by University students

@ftwbreeze11 күн бұрын
Honeywell T87. I believe that's what you like. They are round and mostly brownish or copperish colored with the clear plastic dial indicator. I'm 68 and still learning about the latest types of t-stats along with these multi stage units. My nephew is GM for a local HVAC company, they love replacing rather than repairing and the company is always busy and growing. Customers want the 10 year warranty so they install a new unit. The scrap yard gets a perfectly fine newish unit. The same goes for water heaters. People prefer the newest technology over the standard water heaters.

@throttlebottle590615 күн бұрын
@@pilotboba it's connected on the thermostat itself, RC to RH. no need to jumper on the base. the relay/chip for the reversing wire(O/B) is likely cooked and not sending power anymore. they're fairly well known to fail that way. probably cannot handle the large back EMF spike when it turns the relay off.
