I used to save all my C & A coils, copper, brass, compressors, motors and junk engines and trannys until the end of the year. Always made no less than $1000. Could've made more if I had cut all the alloy out of the straight copper, cut the return bends off the coils and cut open the compressors and fan motors, but like you I had a life outside of the job.

to me it's worth it love it when I do evaporator coils got a season 4 heat reclaim to do soon. I buy tools when I cash in

Super worth it to take the copper windings out of those motors. A little time consuming but you can make 3x the profit if you have #1 copper and scrap the light iron shells/stators

I don't bother with the motors they take up too much space and aren't worth the hassle unless you're cutting them up, I also don't have time for that. I do keep a copper bucket on my van that I scrap when it gets kinda full though.

I dont save anything that has to be cut or prepared. I only save things that are ready to go. Motors with the blade cut off already, pieces of copper, compressors ect.

I thought you got more if you cut the old blades off the old motors? I agree, I ain’t gutting the damn thing but I will lop the blades off at least. They scrap boards here too. Just a heads up.

At the scrap yard I go to they just weigh everything so cutting off the blades don't matter. But I do know guys that take the time to separate everything and they do make a lot of money. From my understanding every yard will have their own rules. God bless I hope this video was helpful to you :)

I accepted a new job and I am in the field wayless. So it's very difficult to come up with new content. But I still have some videos coming. And I might do a video about getting licensed and theory videos if there's interest in that.

I just stick with scrap copper. I donr come across brass to much anymore, motors arent worth it for $0.10/#. I tried saving aluminum fan blades but to much effort for little reward.
