Just an idea, but I had 3 each, pieces of 6 or 8" black ABS pipe mounted to the top roof in-between my ladder racks that were on each side. The black ABS pipe had female threaded caps with air holes drilled in them, on each end, this is where I kept my 10 -12' ridged copper, Schedule 40 PVC, and all-thread, uni-strut Etc. Also, I used All-thread with a piece of pipe over it on the top racks to put my wire on, that way I could just pull out what I needed and cut it off. This may help you out in your pipe and wire organization. :) Sorry, a bit of an OCD about the organization in my truck too. 30+ year Master HVACR tech. and my van was only done when I had to retire from too many Heat strokes here in Phonenix Arizona in this dang 120+ temps. But looking good brother.

Great to get a fresh start like that; the compartment pack storage setup you built is awesome. I’ve had the swing down ladder rack and still prefer the basic weather guard series; easier to shoulder the ladder onto the side rail, is what it is. Drove an 02’ Chevy express with the 4.3L v6 for 10 years, upgraded to a 2012 with the 5.3L v8 W/ AWD; looks identical to what you’ve got; love the van, hauls ass and hasn’t let me down yet! 185000 miles so far, Hope she treats you just as well!

I’m a sprinklerfitter and piping is my everyday job so in our service vans we have a wood floor with 2 open compartments for piping up to 4” and unistrut and two other skinny drawers for rod and whatever else. I don’t know how much piping or conduit you do but you should make a 18”-24” drawer that goes the length of the van floor for it.

figure out a dowel mount system for wire rolls. You would have to determine max gauge you'll need which will determine the max roll size or a vertical rather than horizontal to tuck into a corner. Don't forget a brake for the rolls (spring clip or similar, you don't want them unrolling), consider a roof mount (inside) it would keep wiring handy but out of the way. Otherwise neat and tidy... but for how long when you get busy. This is over a year old still catching up.

Looking at your Stanley storage cases. I know you probably won’t need to remove more than one or two in a normal setting. But the bungee cords I would find annoying. If you had an extra couple inches you could have a stop at each end so you had to lift the Stanley box UP to get it out and never deal with the bungees. Or one vertical bar tall enough to stand in front of the whole rack that pivots out of the way. Just a thought. Everything looks great

Very impressive van set up & well stocked 😉 The one item that worried me was the uniweld torch kit. it is built with a hose reel that snaps into tank holder shell body. I've seen these two pieces separate ,and at an most dangerous time while being roped up to the roof by the handle . You'll be on the roof and the hose reel snaps loose from the weight of the tanks against it . I'd purchase a one piece solid tank caddy . Just my thoughts and experiences .

Hey Chris. It’s Blaze from Escondido. Man. What a beautiful SoCal day. My wife and I played hooky from church ⛪️ and are at the swap meet in Huntington Beach at Golden West College. I like what you’re doing with your van. The round spools 🧵 of wire if they’re close to the same diameter you might want to consider using a stick of conduit and attaching it to the lip of your shelves with hardware. I did this when I used to purchase my roles of 12&14ga at Johnstone. Again great video. Have a great Sunday. God bless.

What are those handheld bins with dividers you used to make custom "drawers" of stuff? I think building something like that for my home parts organization would be amazing - organize small component parts resistors diodes etc, hardware screws/bolts/etc, nails, fasteners, etc. so you can pull out the appropriate type of fastener and take it out to where you're working or component parts set it on your bench.

I'd cover over that window that goes between the back and the cab. Less likely to get broken into if they can't see what might be in there. Also you could always set your clothes rack up behind the passenger seat if you're running low on space in the back, those vans have a ton of leg room even with the passenger seat scooted up a bit.

Nicely laid out van you might want to get rid of the rubber floor they're a pain in the ass I put down 3/4 plywood in my van material slide easier also there's always oil spills it just gets absorbed into the wood doesn't really have a chance for the oil to spread everywhere. Also the coffin drawers from American Van they're nice to have as I have had them in the past the issue with them is the locking mechanism sometimes the drawers fly open cuz the van and the drawers flex overtime easy fix just attached deadbolts

Good vid ! I have those same Stanley boxes & a cart just like yours. i Really like the stanley boxes & my cart. they are sturdier than they look. ive been trying to figure out a soft copper storage idea too. what i think im going to do is buy a Huge pelican like case and put the rolls inside it. you could do the same and then slide it under your inside racks. i like keeping the air & sunlight away from my soft copper. it stays nicer inside my Drivers area i noticed rather than in the back of the truck. i Label My Stankey boxes on the Handle with a Sharpie. it works good. i have a video of it. stanley boxes. i Drive a service truck , so my setup is a little different. i recommend - Getting a Full length 3 stack drawer unit. u can never have enough storage. then put 10" pvc pipe secured by unistrut to your back wall area and put your nitrogen in the plastic pipe horizontally above your drawer unit.

You should hang up your jackets and shirts behind the driver seat or passenger seat.

The ladder rack is bitchin! I'd pay the extra money for both ladder racks, my opinion? I know you were happy getting the new van.
