Scotch is only ok imo. I agree that it has something for lots of folks, and I've been a trail guide a couple times on it for my club. My only issues is 1) it has to be the most crowded trail in Ontario hands down, 2) a lot of it is cleared and I kind of like forested trails better, and 3) just done it way too many times, so it became a bit too familiar. My personal favorites in the area are: 1) Greens Mountain (challenging but not yet buggy territory. Obstacles galore) 2) Forest Mountain (like the above but shorter and tighter with more different lines in the bowl that you can imagine) 3) Anson South (super long and a bit challenging in a couple spots. But very nice to be off the grid for 4+ hours. Turn north at the outhouse on Scotch and you are there) 4) The Rock (Hindon Forest is full of gems that are less traveled and this is a techy one with some optional hard lines that are a real challenge) 5) Turkey Hill (this climb is one of my favorite climbs in Ontario. It has multiple levels and if at all wet it is a skinny peddle trail. Typically I go to the top and turn around and descend as the rest of the trail gets progressively easier eventually turning into dirt road but not without a stupid hard water hole hiding a stump and a boulder). 6) Missing Link (the rock garden climb is stupid hard when wet, but easy enough to descend, so pick your direction based on conditions). 7) Concession Lake (another uber popular trail, but it is beautiful, long enough and has enough spice to keep it interesting. Optional memory climb makes for a challenging obstacle for those inclined). 8) Weakest Link (I've only done it once, but it was quite different than many trails. Tight, technical but in the woods between trees with no water to be seen. One very techy short pump climb, that you have to watch your A pillars) 9) Ardbeg (another I've done only once because it is a bit of a hike, but it has a nice playground. Reminds me of Lyngham Lake, and if you know where to hit, thanks EOTB club!, there are some hidden gems that take it above Ardbeg IMO). Haven't explored Hindon enough but Black Lake South, Beaver Dam, Anson North, Austin Lake, Shoe Lake all get honorable mentions. Still want to do Timbers #1 & #2 soon, #3 doesn't look like my jam.

This is one of my favourite trails. Lots of variety but not to crazy that you are breaking stuff if you pay attention. Thanks again for another great video. Cheers!

Can you guys go do Shoe Lake one of these days? I haven't been able to find any good videos of the obstacles like you guys are great at documenting.

Not sure if we’ve done that one but we did Shoelace trail last year. If we do shoe lake I’ll definitely make a video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKGpeaekjNChbNUsi=Xy_C9ycDaGk8Vezw

Do you guys aviod going down the hard part of the first obstcle or did you just not record it? Do you have a lift on your JT and what size tires are you running? Keep up with the videos, they are great.
@SmokinMonkeyOG4 ай бұрын
I’m not sure exactly which obstacle but there is a lot that we don’t include on the videos. The Gladiator doesn’t have a lift yet and it’s running 37s right now.

On your next video can you explain why air down trail riding?
@SmokinMonkeyOG4 ай бұрын
Gives you more grip, bigger footprint on the ground gives you more stability as well. It also helps absorb a lot of the rough terrain and gives a lot better ride with less jerking around. Last thing is it helps you crawl over rocks by using more sidewalk and being able to bend more and grab rocks so you can climb obstacles.
@artillerybuff20004 ай бұрын
@SmokinMonkeyOG you might mention going too low without beadlocks and your tire could pop off the bead of the rim😮

I think the Gladiator wheelbase is a little too long for true off road capabilities. Too much scraping
@SmokinMonkeyOG4 ай бұрын
I agree it’s not as good as a regular wrangler but once I lift mine it’s shouldn’t be too bad
@0707sheva4 ай бұрын
@@SmokinMonkeyOGwhat was the main reason(s) you decided to go with a Gladiator vs a Wrangler?
@SmokinMonkeyOG4 ай бұрын
I wanted more space, I also want to build it into an over landing rig that I can take in adventures and to me the bed is more useful even if I don’t get a roof top tent to put over it. But that is the plan eventually. I also wanted something that would be different from the wrangler I have and now I have to take completely different lines and give myself a new challenge on trails I’ve done a lot in the other jeep. Keeps things interesting lol
