Having worked in the US for about 14 years and India for 12, i would say the comparison is between apples and oranges. The work life balance in the USA is world's apart from that in India. My father just resigned mahindra home finance due to heavy work load he was working literally from 9AM to 10PM and sometimes 11PM, even on Sundays. There are theories on the upper level only like QWL is important and blah blah but the lower levels are in other hands and they just want to get their work done.
