It's coming along nicely. Lot of learning and growth along the way though out this project.

Another Great video Sam, smoothed firewall looks far better then factory so much cleaner, you won't need AC when you double insulate with car builders and put on limo tint 🙂
@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mate. I herd the car builders product is good. Would you say to lay it on roof aswell?
@nathanhughes99964 жыл бұрын
@@ShenkeGarage yeah mate I have used in a GQ and GU patrol build is good for the trans tunnel and I put on the roof also just to reduce heat and sound proof the cab. Made a huge difference.

Is a heater/demister not required to get passed over the pits for rego ?!... definitely much tidier look without it! Good work so far!

Hey mate the only requirements that I know of is the windscreen requires air to be able to be blown into it. Does not matter if it's hot or cold as long as air is blown into the front windscreen. I will plumb a electric fan motor into the vent that blows into the windscreen. Thanks also Mate.

Hi Sam love the videos, just a question, when you did the floors did you weld the inside as well ? I’m about to start my HZ and curious on How do they look from the inside if you didn’t cheers mate keep up the good work👏👏
@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mate. I only welded them from the outside as I butt Welded them in. If you leave a slight gap the weld will penetrate through the join and you are left with a slight bit of weld on the inside. You can either leave as is or grind back slightly as you dont want to make the metal too thin.

@@ShenkeGarage thanks Sam, i started mine today and stripped the same passenger side roof section, and it is twice as bad as yours, dodgy weld repairs covered with an inch of bog the whole length of the gutter, roof and inner skin. i'm a bit gutted to say the least, but still keen to give it a crack, i took lots of photos but a lot of work ahead.
@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
@@1Montys Sorry to hear that Mate. Its a Shame that people dont repair them properly. I done the other side today the last couple of days and it was worse that the first side. I took a heap of photos of this side as the repairs were a lot more extensive than the first. If you need photos for help and reference then message me on facebook and I can send them. Also interested in how yours looks.

@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mate. I Think the firewall is actually 1.2 mm anyway? As when I butt welded the 1.2 cold rolled it was flush both sides.

Nice stuff mate. Just out of curiosity, how much was the epoxy primer? I'm debating whether to use it for my one tonner
@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mate unsure exactly how much as I bought a bunch of stuff. Can't find the receipt either sorry.
@garypryke29034 жыл бұрын
Hey Samual good work mate. For your oil holes in your epoxy primer use some upol dolphin glaze. It’s a light weight filler it is awesome for pin holes and very easy to sand. Also if you have time check out my video I posted on my Holden colardo bonnet re spray.
@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mate will look at getting some of that filler.
