UPDATE: On a Kurzweil, this is a waste of time guys. A SCSI2SD drive is much faster than this USB drive. I install SCSI2SD here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIGlpXtplLR5q6s ALSO, At the time of this video, I did not know that HxC firmware could read IMG also. Supposedly since 2017. So just ignore the software section of this video. It's no longer relevant.

The k2000 what great unit . I use to love but very complex . The big difference between the ensoniq and k2000 is the after touch the ts12 is way better feeling when you play it . But you are right the ensoniq stuff is not compatible with anything.

Do you recommend a specific brand and model number of the USB drive? I'm finding los=ts of drives at Amazon, Ebay, etc. but I don't know if any of them would have compatibility problems with the K2000. What specific specs should I look for? Thanks.

Hi Bob, I wasn't thinking with this video... Kurzweils read and write SCSI. So it's better to use a SCSI2SD. USB drives are slow. I changed it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIGlpXtplLR5q6s

So I watched another vid where you installed an SD drive. Any pref, one over the other? Also I have std k2000 (not VP); assuming will install and work similarly?

The SD I installed is a SCSI2SD, it is WAY faster. I installed this Gotek not thinking. Kurzweils have a self powered SCSI bus built in... And they can write to SCSI. So there is no need to put a slow HxC drive in them. Use the slower HxC drives for keyboards without SCSI.

Great video can you down load Roland d50 and Yamaha Dx7 on this and if so how can I down load on a Korg n264?

This Kurzweil can read Kurzweil, Akai, Ensoniq, and Roland sample libraries. The d50 and Dx7 are not samplers. You would need a sample library of the instrument sounds you want.

My 1999 K2500 is my only keyboard (retirement budget is "imaginary"..)and the floppy drive may have just died. Would this fit in mine? Also, would moving libraries to it work from my PC? I gather that HFEX (?) software would "transfer/prep" libraries for it, but want to understand it well.

I would use scsi2sd on a Kurzweil. WAY faster. If you get a USB like this one, get one with FlashFloppy firmware. Instead of HXCFloppyEmulator. FlashFloppy reads img and hfe. Converting everything to hfe isn't necessary. Kurzweil has built-in scsi. It's a waste not using scsi2sd. The USB goteks are floppy slow.

Can I add ensoniq t10 on ensoniq vfx ?

What are you asking? Can you put TS-10 sounds on a VFX? No, they are 2 totally different keyboards. The OSs aren't compatible.
