I have thrown they HH Jr. Shallow a ton this year. I have learned so much about it. It works in so many situations and conditions. As you say, the DO crush it. They do hit it, not load up on it. This is the first model of Hybrid Hunter I have used. This video is big time helpful. Thanks for doing it! I have been struggling with keeping them hooked up and have used a variety of rods. Some have worked better than others. I will definitely go in the direction you suggest.

Will cast the regular size a country mile. Your color preference for stained milky water would be which one. Thank you for such quality content.

@@toddcastledinefishing5924 no doubt about it! I bet this bait is a tough one. On one hand you want it to sell for obvious reasons, but on the other hand once guys figure it out & ways to fish it it’ll eventually not be as good due to the increased hh pressure. Idk though. That learning curve can be steep for some.

I bought 6 different colors of the Hybird Hunter Jr's. Its the crank. Just like you do for The Strike King 1.5 squarebill. Crank, Crank. Then pause. It is not a crank bait. It will move to the top of the water. If you have used a down billed Shad Rap made by Rapala. Bounce it off cover. Not rocks. Because it will knock the down turned bill. I fish the Regular Hybird Hunter Jr's. Adjust the speed and cranks and pauses. Till you find the right crank speed. I tear them Largies up on the red craw color. It is Mid April. Temps in the high 60's and low 70. Caught 3 Females over 4pds and a leasts 10 males over 3 pd's. I quit using the chatterbaits or spinnerbaits. Its that good! 😮 Shawn.

I watched this and had that “epiphany” the night before I went fishing. Couldn’t figure out how to find the fish in the grass. Went 3 times before and caught small, 1-2lbrs. I had 3 hybrid jrs (decided on the clear minnow cuz the water is SUPER clear) I had the best fishing day I’ve ever had. Picked up this bait on a windy point with some grass, Caught a 4.9, NEXT cast, a 6.10, then almost ever cast 3s &4s. I even left to pick up a buddy, came back, IMMEDIATELY started catching them. This bait is INSANE

Clear water I usually try to do more natural colors. At the craziest in clear water, I will occasionally throw straight up white or bone white. Muddy water, I want bold dark colors. That pretty much applies across the board for all baits.

Todd, Ive always used the lighter crankbait rods because its got treble hooks. How do you keep the fish pinned with the medium heavy rod that you said was like a swimbait rod? I always try to use lighter rods for anything with trebles and stiffer rods on baits with single hooks since they are harder for the fish to thrownthe hook if they manage to get a little slack and leverage.

There's an inherent limitation in the kinds of design that one can do for the gear tackle fishing rod such as a bait casting fishing rod. As too many things about lures made for conventional gear tackle 'lean' too much on the idea of a tensioned line, pulling against a metal loop 'line tie', and that's it. What finesse solutions tried to do for gear anglers, was to try to branch away, or branch out from that first and most important limitation. In other words, to make a bait 'do something other', than what baits generally do.
@academicmailbox77987 ай бұрын
It's the exact same though with other forms of tackle, the static fishing fly lures. The dynamic fishing fly lures. The swung and dragged fishing fly rigs or set ups. The missing lure and tackle on a lot of decks of a lot of bass boats for shallow water angling is a good Tenkara rig, line and lure. And shame on John Cox and others for not figuring that much out by now (even though John is pulling winning bags of large mouth bass from trees full of May flies on places like Pickwick). Yet will insist on working with a baitcaster for even that. Sort of like using a power drill to saw two-by-four's. Or using a skill saw to punch in steel carpentry nails. When do bass anglers know to admit defeat, and develop a full set of tools of their trade?

@@toddcastledinefishing5924 imma have to get me one or 7 of them to play with. I’m sure that you have, because they are aggressive to the point of being kinda dumb, but have you had good success on big spotted bass as well? lol. That’s most of what I have in the main lakes here in north ga. Just a lot more big spots than there are decent largemouths, so you’re kinda better off targeting the big spots and just taking the largemouths as you get them. If you target the largemouth in most places you’ll just be limiting yourself to much fewer fish. Only a few places that you can justify chasing largemouths and half of em are in ponds. lol
