Calisthenics, or Weights - or Combined... I get the feeling these training concepts are not always fully understood, or that these methods can't & shouldn't be mixed. It's not a coincidence that the best, strongest, most powerful & fastest athletes (track & field, football/hockey/basketball players, fighters and so on have been combining calisthenics and weight training for ages. But most importantly, do what YOU enjoy There are MANY OPTIONS how you can workout; solely bodyweight - OR any other combination. I show examples of everything in the video and how you can create your own workout after your preference (and backpack or bands are of course optional too). SEE the END of the video for EXAMPLE SPLIT & STRUCTURE. 1. Weight exercises (open kinetic chain) + calisthenics exercises (closed kinetic chain) 2. Weight exercises + weighted calisthenics 3. Weighted calisthenics + calisthenics exercises 4. Only calisthenics/bodyweight exercises (no additional load) The concept of PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD applies to both Calisthenics and Weight Training (closed kinetic chain & open kinetic chain exercises). If you don't want to use Weights with P.O you need to make things more challenging to keep making progress. Keep it simple & just do whatever you feel great with doing __________________________________________________________ Also pasting what I replied about making videos: Thanks! I understand people want more, and I'm happy many enjoy the channel. I have never had a patreon, promoted own products or any other sponsors financially supporting the time I have been working with creating content so it's difficult to meet peoples expectations on creating free videos at certain activity. If people still enjoy the channel, I might be considering possible sponsorships later on. I've always declined all offers, but today I realize it maybe was not the best strategical choice, since ad revenues only cover a small portion of the time I work with content. As the channel grew and grew I probably expected the RPM and revenues to increase as well. Much have changed here during the years. For some time short concise videos were popular to the algo, now it's about viewtime and viewtime. KZbin ad revenues can be great for many, which is awesome. I'm happy for the ones being able to work here. I have friends and know people with smaller channels, and even less views, with 5-10x my income (and in some genres you can make much more). Today I see sponsoring as a more natural compontent of the eco system, and additional income stream, which make creators able to work with their channels and create content for the people who enjoy their videos. I spend many hours on filming, editing & creating something, sometimes days. Even if the result is a compressed straight forward 2-3 minute video after editing. Sometimes the first reaction is "when is next?", "it's too short" etc. If I like I channel, I also would like to see more videos. But please see it for what it is. Thanks for showing support by commenting and liking the videos. When & if I see activity and letting me know you actually enjoy the videos, then I also have more motivation to create more content. Hope things are catching up, then I also have greater possibility to work more. Stay strong

I became a father back in May and I just don’t have the time to smash the gym 5 days a week in 2 hour sessions. I switched to 80% calisthenics and now you can find me watching a movie and babysitting whilst pounding a set of push-ups every 5min. My right shoulder feels stronger and tighter, my left pec tendon doesn’t flare at the end of a volume session anymore, my core is stronger, and I am more flexible. My son stares intently when he sees daddy doing push ups.

@@CalisthenicsWeightTraining Kris look at Mike Thurston channel.. like you all he did was make simple videos working out (see his oldest videos) and like you has great figure. All his earlier videos are simple unedited workouts (until he made enough to hire an editor). He has gone on to be huge, earning enough to travel the world and move to Dubai. Fact is your physique is amazing (motivating) your style is simple, uncomplicated with clear cut easy to follow workout programs with little workout equipment needed. Your videos are both informative, peaceful and motivating. You will do so much better than Mike considering the amount of people you introduced to Calisthenics. I even showed my gf “this is the guy that got me in to Calisthenics and working out..”. Also you have an entire community of followers to help you out with making, creating, editing and sharing videos plus telling you exactly how to share across different platforms to generate income and how to make videos clickable.. So trust me Kris your presence on the net is bigger than you think. People know you as the original Calisthenics guy! 👍👌👏👏👏

Hey Kris, which split do you use? I love doing FB workouts after 13 years with PPL. Gives me more time for family and hobbys.
@CalisthenicsWeightTraining11 ай бұрын
PPL x2 or FB 2-3 times a week. I also enjoy a massive workout for all body from time to time, then a couple of days off heavy work and time for other things :)
@JudgeMental133711 ай бұрын
@@CalisthenicsWeightTraining Cheers for the answer! So you choose by time or whats happening in your Life I guess. If you´re busy so to speak you´re doing a FB but 90% of the time you´re doing a PPL right? Think about going back to that wonderful PPL splits. I need the everyday routine and structure. The only downside with 2-3 times FB a week is that I don´t push myself nearly as much as I need and just think about training as: "I hope its over soon I got so many things to do" At the moment It looks like: Monday: FB Tuesday: Mobility / Flexibility & Skill training like Handstands Wednesday: FB Thursday the same as tuesday Friday: FB Saturday & Sunday: A lot of walking and mobility training

Thanks , great to hear 💪 I know what you mean, I'm not really the type to change myself to fit. Many enjoy the content but the total viewtime becomes a problem with short & concise videos, and uploaded sporadically. There was a time even the algo liked short videos packed with content. Much changed with it. Long videos, weekly schedule, lifestyle videos, eating challenges and all kinds of stuff... Never had an ambition to get rich on YT, even though I'm happy for the people who can make a living here, even with a lot money from just ads. But for the survival of the channel it maybe wasn't the best strategical decision for me to decline all that kind of sponsor opportunites. As the channel grew and grew I probably expected the ad revenues to catch up (and rpm). I went from 10k subscribers to 700k, not that ad revenues was very high during my first time here, but now 10 years later it's down about 80-90%. But as I said in another post, revenues can be great. And I'm happy for others, friends and people I know making some good income here (some with small channels and less views than me, & 5-10x my earnings). That's fantastic. I know what you are talking about, longer videos & ideas, thanks for feedback. It just started for fun, and I didn't realize I would actually inspire a lot of people. Some feel nostalgic and sentimental about the channel, including myself. So it's a bit sad if it was completely offline forever. I come back from time to time mostly because of all awesome and nice comments. Happy you like the videos and that they inspired you in some way ❤💪

Question: how do we make it hybrid?? Which ones should we do with weights and which ones with bodyweight? 🤨
@CalisthenicsWeightTraining11 ай бұрын
The workout has both open kinetic chain exercises and closed kinetic chain exercises, so in that matter it's hybrid. Also with alternatives. It's up to anyone to balance and mix after own preference. Also you can decide whether you add additional weight or not to calisthenics-exercises. It's about finding and balancing intensity and 1%RM for certain rep ranges you want to work with. Hybrid can also be that you combine weights and calisthenics - but in separate workouts. Read the end screen. There are many options how you can workout, I show examples of everything in the video (and backpack or bands are of course optional too) 1. Weight exercises (open kinetic chain) + calisthenics exercises (closed kinetic chain) 2. Weight exercises + weighted calisthenics 3. Weighted calisthenics + calisthenics exercises 4. Only calisthenics exercises (no additional load) Keep it simple & just do whatever you feel great with doing
