Gotta be worth a shot, hopefully it does well 👍 Mines Stage 2+ currently but it didn't make the power I expected, not sure if that was because of the car or the tuner being a bit cautious but only got 268bhp and 300ft/lbs. The engine was completely rebuilt a year ago after the balance shafts failed, but the turbo wasn't touched so I'm wondering if its down to the actuator being a bit old and tired 🤷♂️
@DecimalTenths2 жыл бұрын
@@AlexTaylorGTI Only the tuner can tell you why pal. Worn actuators do prevent a decent level of boost being achieved and from holding any to redline so it is a big cause for low power. If I can't make figures for a tried and tested solution I like to try and diagnose why and give suggestions on the solution.

What's your idea behind this K03/K04 Hybrid Turbo compared to just simply using a K04? Are you hoping for better response/quicker spool low down?
@DecimalTenths2 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's just for shits n giggles. Saves relocating the DV, that's about it. Tuned a few of these and they generally end up nice drivers and that's all I want.
@NoName-st6zc2 жыл бұрын
@@DecimalTenths I'm very curious about the results. Since i swapped to the K04 on my GTI i always missed the low down torque from the K03. Above 3k rpm the K04 is obviously really nice and way more potent than the K03 but on your laid-back daily driver type scenarios (anything below 3k rpm with just part throttle), which quite frankly is the range you're mostly driving at on your typical drives, i found the K04 to be almost annoying at times, especially in the city. With the K03 you always had that sweet little boost shove at 2k rpm already which made it just so effortless to live with. Anyway, long story short : a k03 hybrid where i could maintain a decent daily driver shove at 2k rpm while reaching just about 320-340hp would be my dream turbo setup for an mk5 GTI. Living with the K04 made me realize that the fun doesn't necessarily have to come from bigger top end numbers, at least not on a car that's daily driven.
