this is 25:1 ratio, as close as I could get it with the terrible included fuel mixing bottle, LOL. these gas rcs are so easy to run compared to nitro, you don't have to be a nitro GURU, lol. Although both got their ups and downs too. thanks for watching!!

yep bro!! that was not even full throttle. IT was about 75% of the speed I'd say. These things could really benefit from a front brake kit, that might be a future upgrade here. The brakes are terrific, but as you know with any 2WD it's limited at best.

I checked and a mechanical or hydraulic front disk set is like 60-80 bucks. Might consider getting it. Although I saw the On-road Rovan Rc 1/5 scale car already has standard front disc brakes included. Might just buy that for around 550-600 and call it a day eventually.

my new Rc philosophy is to not spend money on these common electric brushless trucks or WPL style RC anymore. They are become very good deals lately and worth the money, but eventually I know I won't drive them at all, so mostly pointless. This new generation of cheap 1/5 gas rc is the way to go!!! or retro rc, Gotta love the old stuff.

@@hybrid32494 LOL..... Damn man I gotta dabble in the 1/7th, 1/6th and 1/5th scales at some point. I really do want to buy myself a Traxxas UDR or an Xmaxx. I've even wanted an XO-1 for pure speed runs but I don't know yet man..... Alot of money.... EXPENSIVE !.
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
dude, I would skip the overpriced Traxxas UDR and the Xmaxx, this Rovan style gas RC is a better deal and you'll have more fun than any electric rc. I used to have an XO-1 too, liked it, but then again it was just an onroad electric car for way too much money. You will never feel safe going over 50 anyway. This thing takes top speeds easy, the scale helps. These are the best value for your bucks I've ever seen.

hybrid32494 Yeah I know what you mean man I have a big e Revo mamba monster that finally has mod 1 gears in it and it’s easily capable of 75-90 mph if I run it on 6S lipo. On 4S I’m sure I’d get my older speeds between 55 and 68 mph. I will easily break 70 now lol. Yeah man I know what you mean I do like nitro and gas but I also really like electric because of the less hassle of cleaning and maintenance. Motors can easily be rebuilt to. I dont know..... I may or may not get a true onroad. I’d like to have a touring car. My two mini 1/16 e Revo VXL’s are maxing 55 on two lipos in parallel 3S 2800 mah maybe 35-45C combined rating also. It’s insanity.
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
ye man, your mini e-revos are super quick, faster than mine. Unfortunately for me the parking lot pavement in many NYC parks is terrible, and driving a touring car is pointless. LOL. I loved the XO-1 they are much cheaper now too. those belated slick tires, OMG, so nice.

What servo would you recommend for a touring car
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
hey dude!! depends how much you want to spend really. I generally use only only TOWER PRO servos for both the micro servos and standard size ones. Check out this one Tower Pro MG996R. IT's under 10 bucks, 15KG and .13 speed at 6V. Means it's quick, has all metal gears and high torque. Never broke a single one so far.
@exploited49625 жыл бұрын
It’s for a 1/10 touring car I purchased 6 tower pro servos and they all didn’t work do you recommend A different servo.
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
oh man, that's weird. I have never had any issue with those. Otherwise I don't really spend money on servos, just get any metal gear high torque and high speed servo. Don't spend too much either. I really like the stock traxxas 2075 servos BTW.

hybrid32494 next time you mix up some fuel go with a 30:1 ratio. It’ll really wake that thing up and still be reliable and keep its tune. I ran my HPI Baja 5B at 30:1 for years with no problems. You could go 32:1 but then it starts to get temperamental with the tuning.
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
I was going to go with 28:1 starting soon. Let me ask you this, which fuel mixing can or bottle do you use. The included one with this is pretty hit or miss and only good for 25:1. Need a better mixing style for sure.
@stevej68245 жыл бұрын
hybrid32494 I’ve got a KTM Motorcycle shop a couple blocks from my place. I bought a mixing ratio cup from them and that’s also where I got my 2 stroke oil. I used RockOil full synthetic. If you don’t have a dirtbike shop near you just google mixing ratio cup online and you should be able to find one for under $10 Summit Racing has the Pit Posse Motorsports ratio cup for $5.99 Not sure what total price would be after tax and shipping.

@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
I wanted the X-maxx for a while too, but dude, am I happy I got this instead. It's cheaper, super solid, just like the 1200 HPI Baja. What I dislike about the high end Traxxas is the ridiculous battery specs they use, means they are expensive. I really am trying to stay within 3S range. I find that anything above 3S is a castle to run because usually you'll run two lipos together, so annoying for me. what do you think?
@gorillabeartech45775 жыл бұрын
hybrid32494 Well..... it’s different for everybody man.... I really enjoy traxxas but I HATE there damn Lipo batteries..... 25C rated 2S and 3S for darn near any scale below 1/6 ........ ridiculous. I’m having issues with my Traxxas E Revo VXL 1/16th scales in regards to my 1400 mah 25C 3S Traxxas lipos....... if I try to run them by themselves just one 1400 mah pack on one side the battery died right away..... come to figure out the vxl-3m esc is drawing too much amperage according to my local hobby shop employee man. He told me specifically to run both of the 1400 mah 3S 25C together using the parallel connector on lipo mode so that the batteries don’t die right away. He said because it’s such a small mah in each one that it’s causing issues because they are only 25C and also because of the fact that I’m geared alittle high at 31 pinion 45 spur. I’m no longer stock 28/50 gearing like both of them were before so therefore I’m putting a lot of strain on the esc and motor. For some reason know I’ve never really had this issue with the two Traxxas 2S 2200 mah 25C lipos because he said that there is less amperage being drawn and less demand on the motor and esc also because of a higher mah runtime. He said I wouldn’t have a problem running them individually or together in parallel because of that reason. Sucks that I can’t run a single 3S because Its hard for me to drop the damn lexon she’ll on top with the wiring sticking up from the rear. I don’t want to smash any of the wires down just to use the body. I contacted Max Amps and explained this issue with them through an email and explained that I want to partner with them and receive some lipos for my 1/10 rustlers, Bandit, Stampede 4wd, Slash’s and E Revos. Hopefully I can get a good batch for unboxing and review for you guys man. We already know that Max Amps is super expensive to begin with lol.

You, my friend, are a maniac. Is this Rovan 2WD or 4WD? Maybe that's a stupid question, all buggies are 2WD.
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
hey man!! thanks for watching!! these are 2WD, they do make the gas models with 4WD, but they tend to be the short course style ones or the monster truck ones. OFcourse just for that slight design change their prices are significantly more. a 4WD Rovan is about double to triple the price of this, and yet their only main difference is chassis layout and 4WD.

The poor little wlp. The little scale trucks are cool. You're not too much younger than I am so you remember the old Ravel models you could do. The wpl's are trying to recapture that by at least letting you be able to have them move. Don't be mad at them because they don't go fast. And your painting and modeling skills aren't as good as some of the other people on the wlp group. They have their place. Just not for a Performance Truck guy like you. I'm not ragging on you I'm just saying. I bought ab24 just to make as a little dirt bike hauler for my son. Who probably never be able to experience how things are put together a Tamiya kit. Like I did when I was like 12 years old and took me like probably a week to put my frog together. Because everything's ready to run or almost built. That's the only reason I even bought it for him but we had a really good time putting it together even though I did most of it. But every time he wasn't right there next to me I would put it away and say we'll pick this up later. So he would see the process and how everything went. Granted he's five. But he can drive the shit out of it RC truck. Started out with a brush ECX Ruckus. Then threw a brushless in it. He can handle it. I got a great deal on a Yeti kit roller that had barely been touched. With some key upgrades. So I gave him my mt10e. And surprisingly the spur gear is still alive 6 months later. No Center diff just the school. Makes me feel proud that he can drive a truck without destroying gears. And adults can't do the same. And make no mistake he's a trigger Junkie.
