Hybrid Calisthenics

Күн бұрын

For about 2 years, I was responsible for taking care of my disabled mother full-time.
This meant I COULD NOT get sick without jeopardizing her health. There wasn't any way I could "call in" to work if I wasn't feeling well.
(While yes, we could have hired a nurse, but they would likely not be familiar with my mother's case or be able to provide 24/7 care, which my mother needed. Home health can be a bit complicated.)
Here are some things I did to prevent getting sick:
1.) Sleep long and deep - this was not always possible for me, as I would have to wake up multiple times during the night to attend to my mom. However, whenever I got a chance to sleep even 5 hours uninterrupted, it made a BIG difference.
2.) Eat lots of ginger powder - ginger has been shown in scientific studies to reduce inflammation and help prevent infections, but anecdotally I've had a great experience with it as well. I highly recommend trying it to anyone that is able.
3.) Eat lots of raw garlic - similar to ginger, but it seems to be even more potent, particularly for respiratory infections. I recommend not eating this on an empty stomach.
4.) Gargle with salt water (and boil salt water and inhale vapors) - this seemed to prevent infection from settling in my upper respiratory system.
5.) Reduce stress - this may be one of the hardest ones, but our emotional state plays a big role in our physiological health. Take steps to pamper your mental health.
I hope this helps! If it becomes an issue, I can link some studies, but they are already quite easy to find online for anybody looking. Additionally, I made this video with the intention of sharing what has worked for me anecdotally. Try it if you want, but if you are hesitant or skeptical, you don't have to!

My friend who was a nutritionist said that garlic is very toxic. He said it is used to activate the immune system when you are needing help to either get well or to prevent illness if you think you were exposed to a sick person but he said it is not good to eat all the time as the immune system will get tired and could eventually not bother anymore like the crying wolf story. He said it’s best to only eat that occasionally as needed. I trust him so that’s what I do. Just thought I’d share that with all of you. Thank you for being a good person and taking care of your Mom. I love you so much for having done that. I’m crying right now even trying to tell you how much I love you for having done that! You are an angel!!!

My daughter is 13 & has muscular dystrophy. I'm a single mom. So I stay in to shape just to care for her. Don't drink, eat healthy, sleep routine, yoga, ect. I have a disease that causes among other things, muscular dystrophy type muscle loss. And you're doing just great, I can tell! Your kiddo is getting to an age where soon she'll wasn't to start being more independent. I know this is so hard to balance and is something I struggle with still at 22. Mentally I know I can be independent, but my body doesn't let me be. I was stubborn and insisted I struggled alone for a while and my mum knew she had to let that happen. Eventually I learnt how to accept help but make boundaries to mentally be okay with needing help with some stuff but still having things I tough it out alone, so I know I can have that sliver of independence still. Sorry this became an essay! At that age was when the conflict with my mum started and she initially didn't understand and felt like I was personally rejecting her (help) but if I can do 1 thing I'd love to prevent that years of upset for someone else

Little info that you can totally decide to overlook if you want, but studies showed that it’s better to drink a little bit of alcohol every day than either not at all or a lot on for example a specific day/weekend during a month. We’re talking about 5 ounce of red wine per day for ladies two times a day! Have a good day and I will try to link a video about it! 😃 Of course this does not apply to people who have struggled with alcohol abuse in the past or right now (unless they can limit their consumption to what is recommended and no more ;))

When eating raw garlic, it's best to crush it and leave it in the air for 10 minutes. That makes the allicin content higher. Allicin is the most important chemical in garlic.

he's a beautiful person taking care of his mother & stressing not to get sick bc she needed him. isn't it wonderful how Nature put the medicine in our fruit & vegetables. 8 years ago I was very sick & on death row. A Vegan came into my life & showed me what happens to animals on farms - all my excuses I had, melted into compassion & I went Vegan - I did not know my body was going to completely heal! I'm 64 now & 46kg, I can run, I walk 50 k with my Bullmastiff weekly, I climb. I'm so healthy & so much stronger - I feel so blessed. I've Not been sick a day in 8 years. I even forgot I once had arthritis. My Compassion Saved My Life💚 All my friends are sick - they're changing to plant based living

@@r32juan I would just like to say that there is no blanket statement which applies to everyone. Sure, some people may look back on their school years and think, "Man, I thought that was rough? That was so much easier than what I'm dealing with now." For other people, however, their 'adult life' in the 'real world' actually proves to be easier /and/or more stress-free than school was for them. It's just another case-by-case situation. Nothing applies to everyone.

Imagine the body is a highway and the cars are stress. Everything is good if the cars can move in and out of the highway, but once there's a traffic jam it's chaos. Become good at unraveling your traffic jams and your highway can handle millions of cars just fine.

My dad had a stroke at 53 and it's because of all the cigarettes and 21 years of being a correctional officer gave him night terrors he would literally scream awake from. He's still alive just not the same as I remember him just 5 years before.

Never get sick: 1) sleep (8 hrs) 2) ginger powder,water,honey/lemon 3) raw garlic cloves or with milk 4) gargle with salt water 5) No stressin (do things that make you calm, happy, take your mind away) Bonus: chicken soup Water water water (warm if its really cold from tap - not if you have fever) / hot tea (NOO COFFEE!!) Spicy foods? (Depends if you're able. If you're not a spice person, don't force.) Yes, i am sick right now. Seen alot of false info and advice that'll do harm out there so becareful. This guy is a true one. Speaking only facts. Stay strong brothers. ❤

@Reddit Brink It is not appearance that matters, but the quality of your character. And Hampton is a real chad because of his character, not because he looks like an Asian woman. Anyone like Hampton can be a real chad regardless of appearance. As far as I know, Hampton is the only chad that looks like an Asian woman, but imagine an army of real chad Hamptons.

Great tips for mums like me. I strive to stay healthy and away from the docs since I'm a single mum to a preschooler and carer for my parents while my husband is on a rotational job. Sleep is definitely a priority for me, PLUS eating organic food every single day really helps keep my family and I healthy and strong.
