I have no clue to how it would get off planet unless it's smart enough to pilot the Engineer ships. If they do decide to go back to LV-223, I think it'd be cool to see the Deacon as a straight up queen with her own hive of Deacon type aliens. How that would relate to Xenomorphs in any way, I don't know. I doubt another Deacon would come to exist outside the planet since the Trilobite was made under very specific circumstances.

Which then suggests the Yautja have already gotten a hold of this finished result and hunt it. Which then still allows for AvP to happen whether Ridley Scott wants it too or not.

I'd recommend checking out the Prometheus Fire and Stone comic series and the sequel Life and Death. From what I understand, it is the soft reboot of the AvP comics line which is also canon to the films. Hopefully we get a new AvP movie closer to the games!

If we'll ever see the Deacon in future movies is hard to say. Personally I think the Deacon is simply a part of these creatures starting evolution and that we might see several new versions before we start seeing the more traditional xenomorph. According to the comics there are a huge range of different xenomorphs, depending on which type of host they spring from. I've read a list of translations from the predator language to human language once, and there the humans were described as "soft meat" while the xenomorphs were described as "hard meat". Now, this makes me believe that the xenomorphs need to evolve to have different ways to burst out of their hosts, as the characteristics of the host body varies. The engineers might be harder to break out from, therefore the alien has to find another way to get out. The humans are fragile and needs less "force" to break out from. I don't know... I might be a bit far out on this one, but its a theory none the less. At first I didn't like this new take on the alien creature, but now it sort of makes sense to me, as the xenomorphs seem to be a scientific experience done by the engineers. Maybe they were working on a new biological weapon, I don know. But these creatures had to start from something, as we humans didn't actually begin as humans either. What we are seeing in the Prometheus movies is the beginning of a creature that will evolve into what we are used to see in the past alien movies. Im excited to see where they are going with this new idea of the creature though. Will it be a total "re-writing" of the lore, or will it be a deep dive into the beginning of the xenomorph history?

David Savage That would be interesting but highly unlikely due to the fact that deacons seem to come from the engineers while xenomorphs come from humans, and when a xenomorph is born it is in a larva like state and has no arms or legs and when the deacon was born it had all of those characteristics and was almost as big as the engineer too. Based on these facts, I speculate that at full maturity the deacon would have the size and strength of a xenomorph queen.

If you saw Prometheus, you would've seen that out of some jars came out worms. Those worms were like facehuggers and infected someone. That person then impregnated someone as normal and she would basically have an alien inside her like if a normal facehuggers got her. Except that what was inside her was that thing. Holy Shit, an Adult Deacons look very scary. I really want to see a return. I know you said that the xenos existed long before and perhaps your right but with the movie studio busting in and demanding all removal of xenomorphs ( for some stupid reason when it was suppose to be a prequel and possibly a stand alone prequel) the Deacon was created.Deacon means an order below, and when I write order, I don't mean commands but what is before, next, and after. So therefore story was slightly change and the Deacons came first along with the very first facehugger which was monstrous too. These two creatures along with the new Neomorphs are like what I would say the final 3 prehistoric humans that would eventually lead to modern man as an example. Our prehistoric ancestors. I remember my anthropologist teacher saying this, one out of the three prehistoric humans died off which will be the Deacons possibly, and the neo morphs may possibly mate with another and become the xenomorph. Chestbursters do have arms & legs. If you look at a still, you will see they are 'moulded' to the body. Presumably the first moulting frees the limbs allowing the entire body to then develop into maturity.

Interesting thought: Perhaps xenomorph and xenomorph adjacent species inherit regressive DNA traits as well. Having evolved from primates, humans do, to this day still have hints of a vestigial tail, in the form of a tail-bone (and some humans are even born with tails in rare cases.) If the engineers were created without evolution or if they simply evolved from something else, a creature born from an engineer might not have a tail because it's not anywhere in their DNA.

But that WASN'T a Xenomorph in the mural. It was primordial form of one, like the Deacon. Perhaps it was a warning. The black goo containers in that specific room were unstable: defective if you will. The mural was a depiction of what could happen if one were to interact with said "defective containers". The containers that David dropped on the Engineers in Alien Covenant were stable, therefore, they killed the engineers, vs mutating them. Just my theory. Great video.

Scott really messes things up with Prometheus. He realized this And is now trying to fix it with Alien Covenant. The Alien, Predator, AVP, and Prometheus Fire and Stone story arc blend all the universes together in a way Scott could only wish of doing. Fox had influence in that comic arc which leads me to believe it's canon (it even adds/explains something in Aliens that ties it all together, quite cleverly too).

if there are any more Deacons they should differ in appearance to this on, the reason being that the Prometheus Deacon's precursor was born from Shaw and then the Deacon itself was born from the Engineer, so it's appearance and nature is based on the DNA of both Shaw and an Engineer. If another Deacon is "born", it would probably be Human/Human and not Shaw/Engineer. Or maybe even Human/Xenomorph!?

here's a theory on Deacon since he's fully new type but it's well constructed we know he's blue and so is the king in video the xenomorph king will reign supreme. so if it's just burst and is that tall at creation we can't rule out it morphs into the king. one clue that would do it definitely to confirm this is blast Deacon in a mid life cycle to this theory and see how well he takes pulse rounds cause the king is supposed to have a more extreme hard carapace then the queen so if it like thinks pulse rounds are like fly's.

I think it's very possible the deacon could return for a single convoluted reason. Perhaps, because it was born from an Engineer, it could possibly be super-intelligent in comparison to other aliens we've seen, like Big Chap (who probably was smart as Kane, a human). If the deacon is extremely intelligent due to it's host being such as well, then it's plausible the deacon could have found it's own Engineer ship somewhere on LV-233, like Shaw & David did, and pilot it offworld. Now, if this were to happen, it would be EXTREMELY conveniently coincidental for the deacon to fly it's ship to the setting of Alien: Covenant, because we have no reason to assume the deacon has any motivation to go there, and any made-up motivation explaining how it got there would likely not make any sense. But it's not impossible.

Actually I think that when the engineer used the black goop to creat an evolved species then the decon must have used the black goop from the ship to creat the xeanomorphs

The mural is not a xenomorph. If anything it's a "deacon" type creature. Look closer. The xenomorphs must've existed a LONG time before Prometheus, as the derelict ship in Alien had been crashed on LV426 for long enough to fossilise the pilot (who I don't believe was an Engineer - it was WAY too large).

Surely the deacon is an odd mix between human and engineer DNA as its originally have from Shaw before being impregnated into the engineer.

Surely there shouldn't be much difference between a zenomorph created through the "Engineers" and zenomorphs created through humans- apart from size.

For me It would have more sense that the Deacon had got into the black goo mutating it's cells to become the first queen Xenomorph.
