HYD System Failure during Landing at SFO. United Airbus A320. REAL ATC

A United Airlines Airbus A320 registration N463UA, performing flight UAL1816 from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW) to San Francisco International Airport (KSFO) being on short final at San Francisco Airport reported hydraulic system failure, declared an emergency and requested to stop on the runway after landing.

March 7 : a tire falls off a United Boeing 777 after take off. March 8: a United Boefing 737 Max 8 veers off the runway upon landing. March 8: a United Airbus A320 develops a hydraulic leak in flight and diverts to LA. March 9: a United Airbus A320 returns back to Chicago after take off due to mechanical problems. March 11: a United Boeing 777 develops a hydraulic leak and turns back for landing. March 14: a United Airbus A320 develops a hydraulic leak in flight. March 14: a United Boeing 737-800 lands with a missing fuselage panel. All that in the same week. All is fine, nothing to see here.

Every airline has an emergency nearly every day. It’s just what the media picks and chooses to talk about. Southwest two days ago nearly flew into LaGuardia tower. But the media just didn’t want to cover that one.

Poor old United. They are having a bad run at the moment. A huge carrier is always going to have issues crop up but they never seem to be out of the news at the moment. Hope everything smoothes out over the next few months as the FAA are clearly not too impressed.
