wow! I made this today. It came out mind blowing. It was so good that I was surprised myself. been cooking for 3 years now and today I exceeded myself with this dish. it was perfect. by the way...i used brown rice and i cooked it for 20 minutes and not 5 minutes and i did not use ghee in the marinade. i used a little bit of olive oil and despite that the biryani was mind blowing.

Sorry for the delayed reply Sara.Thank you for the comment. the paste wont get burned.I cooked it on high flame for 10 minutes for the quantity of marinade i used.And i used non-stick vessel.It may get burned if the marinade has less moisture in it.If you want to try this recipe cook it on medium flame rather than high flame.

Hi Charita.Thank you so much trying that recipe. usually, frozen prawns and sea prawns smell very bad. soak them in buttermilk squeeze out a lemon in the buttermilk and soak the prawns for at least 15 to 20 minutes. and then wash again for 2 to 3 times.

Hi... Thank you for the recipe. I was following the KZbin Video and not the written recipe. And the video states tablespoon instead of teaspoon. I have used proportion as tablespoon. And i noticed by the comments and also by the website that it should be teaspoon. I am currently in the process of making it. However i would suggest that when you have pinned comment for Garlic Ginger, you should also pin the comment for teaspoon or tablespoon because now i am not sure how it will turn out due to me using table spoon instead of teaspoon for all the masalas

If I don't have a air tight vessel what's is the best alternative vessel? The traditional handi is possible?
@FoodvedamRecipes7 жыл бұрын
you can use Handi.you need place a lid sized wet cloth or aluminum foil. to seal the vessel.anyway, prawns don't take much time to get cooked.so they don't need heavy vapors.so don't worry about the lid.

Can we half boil the prawns first and then marinate it? Bcoz sometimes prawns remain tough and give a feeling of under cooked while the rice is fully cooked
@FoodvedamRecipes9 жыл бұрын
Fernando Beno It happens mostly when you use frozen prawns.you need to defrost them properly and bring to room temperature.and a proper marination is required.salt,green chilli paste,ginger,yogurt,lemon juice are natural tenderizers.so if you are using frozen or fresh prawns marinate them for certain time,they will be soft.

Can I try this receipe, prawn pulav in cooker ?
@FoodvedamRecipes9 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary! this is dum biryani not pulav,Dum biryani recipe is prepared with the moisture in the marinade.if you use pressure cooker,the vapours will escape from the whistle.biryani needs to be cooked in a heavy bottomed vessel .If you want to cook in pressure cooker,you can cook,but don't use it's original lid.use any flat lid with a heavy weight placed over it.it is just to prevent vapours from escaping.
