I really think you need to do a video, or series, on how you get the finish quality that you do. I follow several machinist channels, and no one comes close to the finish quality you do. As a matter of fact, some of the people I follow have commented on your finish quality. I think you're putting in a lot more work than you're letting on, and I'd appreciate an understanding of what you're doing different to take your projects to the next level.

Very much enjoyed watching this. I especially liked the method of fitting the dowel pins to align the part to the tee slots on the mill. Oh, and the fancy footwork during the plasma cutting scene.

Looking forward to part two. I am wanting to build some hydraulic shop tools and didn’t want to buy a motor and pump for each. On your next video could or would you please give info on where to go online to educate me on things like psi required, gallons per minute needed, pump requirements, things like that. I understand hydraulics and how they work, but I don’t know hydraulic details. Thank you for sharing and I like you video format and style.

I really like your entire setup. That has been a dream of mine. Hopefully, someday..... I agree, you have a great eye for detail, and the music is soothing. I hear music like that in my head when everything starts to flow. My shop though, is a too much in too little space. I think your's is about perfect. Since you already hooked up an VFD, you could have saved the two stage pump by implementing a variable speed hydraulic system, you just need a pressure transducer and hook it up to the analog input of the VFD. Then play around a bit with the parametars on the VFD. I have done this with the exact same VFD and it works really well. The nice thing is you can also actively decrease the speed, that could save you the flow divider you have built in.

No lovejoy coupler have a 15 thou tolerance and 1 degree angular that raised boss the pump centers it. Its more concentric than the ones you buy I'm sure

@@westweldThey do have a big run out range but I always found that the closer you get them to concentric the longer the coupling rubber lasts. I was only explaining the idea of a "love joy"coupling to two young engineers at work yesterday and Like that I called them a "love joy" and then had to explain as you did that they were not actually all made by love joy but everyone calls them that🤣. 5hp motor will put out some pressure!👍 I have a 4hp in my 45ton ironworker and its a beast.

Where did you get your lathe tool storage posts, may not be calling it right thing, after you was done with a tool on you lathe, you put them back on what looked like aluminum brackets with bxa embossed on them, would like to have some!

I started in the oilfield well natural gas and learned with a pancake ive tried to switch but have always gone back for a few reasons, very lightweight and comfortable because of sanding to fit my face and no glare from the sun when welding outside. I can also get my head in tighter spots. They have some pretty nice hoods these days, I thought about trying an optrel

Badass! Just got me a hossfeld #2 bender the other day, there is definitely a learning curve with that machine. And I need a crap ton of dies lol. I bought it off the original owner and he took very good care of it, it's something like a 40year old machine.

@@westweld No, its not to bad, I hardly ever use it though, because I have an AC drive installed. Can get down to 150 rpm in direct drive and still have gobs of torque.It will even run a 2" spade bit in the tailstock, I have a torque arm on the tailstock to save the keyway in the ram.I got rid of all of the sheeve drive stuff and installed a 5 HP motor, kept the clutch though. Had this setup since 1997 and would never go back to the old setup.

Thanks......no the 7 7/8 is how much square tubing is used in the bend but it will depend on what size die you use. This is 3/4 tubing but you will have to make a test bend in whatever material you are using and determine how much to subtract.
