I hydroplaned once about 20 years ago as a young driver not respecting the rain. Ever since that experience, when it rains, I'm driving like a 95yo grandma.

I´ve hidroplanned once, and was in danger of hitting a bus in the opposite lane. Thank the Lord it was very far away from me, and I had time to recover control, or it could have been fatal. At that moment I´ve learned three things: 1) Dont speed during rain with old tires; 2) Better do not speed at all during heavy rain; 3) If your tyres are good, your car will keep a straight line during hydroplanning, so no hard movements at the wheel during that time.

Totally agree, you can see I was doing 60mph and god helped to Avoid crashing into him, the truck behind me almost rear ended me, it was way more scarier then you see on video…

@@Logic7repair I can imagine how scary it was. I´m from Brazil, and this road configuration (two lanes from each side, no buildings nearby) remembers me very much of highway BR-476, when approaching northbound (coming from the south) a large brazillian city, named Curitiba, which is the capital of Parana state. I often get rain when passing tru there. It is complicated to negotiate traffic during these conditions. BR-476 had the nickname "Highway of Death" for this and some other reasons. Its official name is "Regis Bittencourt". I´ve never hydroplaned there. It happened between the small towns of Tiradentes and Sao Joao del Rey. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. I was very very reckless as a driver when I´ve got my license, back in 2005. Now with a wife and a kid, I drive much more conservatively.

Hydroplaning is only dangerous if you're trying to change the direction of the car as it happens i.e. turning, accelerating or braking even if there's a little input. If you coast, your car will just go straight over like you said. The vast majority of people instantly link hydroplaning to spinning out which is not the same thing.

Hi BAVLOGIC, is it ok if I use this clip "HYDROPLANING is real!" on my channel? with credit (name on screen). Can you explain what happened ??where did it happen?

Yeah you can use it, it says in description what happened: Lexus was speeding in very very heavy rain 60+ mph, he wrecked his car but didn’t give up and kept speeding eventually overcoming my car again.
