Time to start growing sweet pea vines. Just went to chinese restaurant and they had pea shoots on the menu. Had them - and they were great with wok cooking (or steaming) soy sauce, garlic. So keep the softer and end lengths of sweet peas and the leaves and can eat these for great salad as well. Same for growing sweet potatoes and eating the same vine and leaves as well. Remember to steam/boil and eat all the pea and sweet potato leaves. NO waste.

Very nice. When you say 2-2-1 per gallon, you mean 2 TEA SPOONS per gallon, table spoons, or something else? I just set up a ghetto kratky system using Ikea boxes, cardboard, yogurt pots and perlite, to grow greens on my balcony. Thanks!
@RaymondLohengrin2 жыл бұрын
Excellent channel. Would you please write a list or do a video of the best seeds and varieties that you use? I b went to the local farm store and purchased lettuce but for the time it takes to grow this kind is not practical to grow. I have seen many of your videos and the variety of lettuce and other greens you use seem much better. Thank you.
@greensnmachines4 жыл бұрын
Neat experiment. I tried germinating beans in rock wool in the past and every time I tried that, the seeds rotted away. I see using soil for starting the seeds and perlite as a shallow water bed is the way to go. Now I'm curious if beans can survive an NFT system?

I seen a couple of your videos back in the day when you was doing Hydroponics with different fertilizers masterblend and Miracle-Gro now if you use Miracle Grow and use the same chemistry as you use the master blend with the calcium and epsom salt the Miracle-Gro works great 2 grams calcium nitrate and 1 gram Epsom salt using Miracle Grow it works good that's Hydroponics but just to let you know you have a blessed life
@coreymcconnell23293 жыл бұрын
So if you can in the future maybe try Miracle-Gro again if you get a chance tablespoon or half a tablespoon of Miracle Grow 2 grams calcium nitrate and 1 grand Epsom salt using Miracle-Gro in 1 gallon of water guarantee you will love it great videos love watching and God bless

I just found your channel, and subscribed. Love your videos and I'm learning a lot. Just wondered if you can give me an idea of what size net pot to use for plants. For example, I'm using a 2" net pot for things like lettuce and swiss chard, but I think I would need a larger one for things like tomatoes, peppers, etc.

Have you ever made your own fertilizer? There's a Korean farming technique called JADAM, which specifies using the specific plant residues as the best fertilizers, like for like. Beans for beans, tomatoes for tomatoes etc. For your next batch of beans you could chop the old plants up, roots & all, add to a bucket of water along with some leaf mold and let it decompose anaerobically for a couple of months. Dilute at 1 part in 100 of water, add 1g sea salt per liter and you're good to go. Might make a nice experiment for you.
