Hymn #78 in the 1985 LDS hymnal, "God Of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand." Also known as one of the most enjoyable hymns to play on the organ.
Sheet music: www.lds.org/mu...
Lyrics:
God of our fathers, whose almighty hand
Leads forth in beauty all the starry band
Of shining worlds in splendor through the skies,
Our grateful songs before thy throne arise.
Thy love divine hath led us in the past;
In this free land by thee our lot is cast.
Be thou our Ruler, Guardian, Guide, and Stay,
Thy word our law, thy paths our chosen way.
From war's alarms, from deadly pestilence,
Be thy strong arm our ever-sure defense.
Thy true religion in our hearts increase.
Thy bounteous goodness nourish us in peace.

Thank you for recording playing this song. You play it very well. I listen to this song when I drive in my car. It helps me feel more positive and uplifted as I drive. I have the LDS hymns on CD that I got from Deseret Book. My husbands health isn't doing too well. So I've been listening to church hymns to help bring me peace through this troubling time.

We had a Big organ and the guy who played it was a master. My dad would always complain the organ was too loud. I thought it was great. We also had a huge ward that sang robustly. Wonderful childhood memories.

I've seen old hymnals in secondhand bookshops and quite frankly it looks impossible for any human being to play. I'd love to know how church organists manage to decipher those hymnals.....there must be a way obviously!

I'm not sure I've seen those kinds of old hymnals, what about them was hard to decipher?

Very nice! Could you maybe do the rest of the hymnal, too?

Hmm, I mainly record when I have an interesting arrangement or reharmonization. It takes some time to set up and take down my setup, so I don't record a ton 😅

@@StephenKendall Well, that's just great. The song's still good, though. It's just that you can't really do the rest of the hymnal, from the way I see it.

Great job on this song! That organ sounds great too, is it a Rodgers Trillium T788L? We have one in out stake center and it is a fantastic organ

I don't know the exact model number, but that sounds about right. If is quite fun to play, especially after adjusting the ambience level! 😃

We use your organ music 🎶 at home. We have been on a governor lockdown and our stake asked us to hold our own sacrament at our homes. We sing pray sing and have the sacrament listen to a talk and that’s it. Christ centered home teaching was absolutely nothing short of a miracle giving that revelation through the prophet, President Nelson.
