I'm now 55 years old and am still a big fan of his, and still love his music as much as I did back in '78. Unfortunately heard only too rarely on the radio.

It was with Oxygene 2 that I grew up loving Jean - Michel Jarre's music, at the age of 12 back in 1978, thank's to my cousin who's a big fan of Jean - Michel's, who introduced me to his music.When I first heard Oxygene 2 for the first time, I just fell in love with it , something happened inside me that I can't explain.

I was there at this very concert, 23 years ago. One thing I want to point out is that the audio is Live and not played back as on many of his concert videos. Another thing is that the band was scared playing at such proximity with the audience. Not only is the stage 10 meters away from the seats, the seats grow at 45 degrees high 'cause it's an ancient theater and for the band it feels like playing at the bottom center of a huge speaker and the view of the audience feels vertical to them. Believe me when I say it's very overwhelming. And last but not least, the audio quality of the video is very bad because it was recorded on beta tapes for the purpose of TV broadcasting. The actual sound from really being there was perfecly balanced with the venue.

Actually, I was doing my Navy service at the time and I told my superior officer to sneak me out of military camp and sneak me back in after the concert, otherwise I would just sneak out by myself and he would have to send me to Court Marshall. He preferred to avoid all that, so he helped me. I'm still friends with him today because of that..

La verdad este concierto es mas bien como una invasión, teniendo en cuenta que es el lugar natal de dos músicos similares a Jarre que son Vangelis y Yanni. Es como si Vangelis hubiera hecho un concierto en Francia.

@damondrobinson33133 жыл бұрын
@@gitisa2291 I CARE ! Jarre shouldn't be advertised as being live if it isn't, I've no problem with playback or a musical presentation just as long as you know what you're paying for. Too many artists these days are miming in what are being billed as "live shows" I personally love live music even if it doesn't sound as polished as the studio productions, but most artists want to keep that big produced sound, even on the stage and will mime to achieve this !
@damondrobinson33133 жыл бұрын
@mikołaj Kościelniakowski No way !!!! he just lowers his right arm slightly as he comes away from the top keyboard, it's clear he's miming and if you're musically trained as I am you tend to notice a lot more giveaways, not just this example but many others. Also this section of Oxygene 2 as you can see him playing at 12.26 is very tight with the timing and one would expect slight variations playing this live, but what you hear is the exact recording removed from the master tapes, ie very fake and too perfect sounding for a live performance !
